What a pleasant surprise! Hey y’all 👋🏽 you both have some fun WIPS. Diana 1. Keep - those are definitely perfect for the grandbaby 😊 2. Finish (gifts for hubby always win😊) 3. Finish - what a special project, because you are both doing it together. 4. 🐸 5. Finish 6. Finish (it’s summer sock camp time) 7. 🐸 8. Finish 9. Finish 10. 🐸 use the yarn for another project that sparks your joy. Kaity 1. Frog - I remember you mentioning the purling is what makes you not enjoy knitting cardigans ( I think) so that’s why I say from 😬 2. Finish finish finish 😂 3. Finish - what a special project, because you are both doing it together. 4. 🐸 5. Finish 6. Finish 😩 7. Finish 8. Finish

Diana, Your face when you pulled out the vest had my laughing. I think it was telling. 🐸 You have so many beautiful yarn choices. Kaity, your outfit is gorgeous and looks so cheerful. I also love the red sweater - it will be gorgeous.

Now I know why I love watching your podcast…we love all the same patterns. This was such a fun episode! Diana: Tesilated-frog it. Your patterning is off. The squares should be in columns and you switched it up after a few rows. Katy- the red cabled sweater will be amazing on you and you inspired me to start one. Well, now I am inspired to look at my wips. I will video myself so I can capture my face as I open each bag. Then my heart will guide my decisions versus my brain messing it all up.

You have so many beautiful WIPs. When I retired, I had a dozen unfinished garments (mostly missing sleeves). Now I don't allow myself more than 3 WIPs at a time and to make it interesting, they have to be different (a cable, a fair isle, a lace or fancy construction). I love your choice of colours, yarns and patterns.

Great episode! I think the key is you have to be excited about what you are knitting. Life is too short (and knitting too slow) to keep going on something you’re not in love with. So if you put it aside there must have been a reason…you weren’t feeling it for some reason. Rip with no regrets! (I know, easier said than done…)

So many WIPs!! I can't do that because it makes me crazy to have more than 3 or 4 things going at once. I like to have a challenging knit and a simple, socializing, TV knit going at once. So, here's my opinion--Diana, rip the poncho, the Tesselated Vest and the shawl. You said you don't really like shawls, so... And, that Tessalated vest is a slog!! You can use your time and yarn to make something else with the yarn. I suggest you finish up the baby pants and socks first to get them done, and then tackle one of the other projects at a time. Kaity, I think you should also rip the shawl and use the yarn for something else. Rip the champagne cardigan because you don't like mohair, and rip the Alpine Glow. Again, finish the small things first--like the headband. It looks like you both have some heavy items that you might want to work on when it is cooler--maybe 60 degrees? Just figure out where you are on each project, take it slow, and you are going to have some beautiful sweaters!! Loved this sharing!! (And, these are just my opinions. :) )

Katie - finish the Andrea Mowry shawl cardigan but don’t do the v neck front. Go straight up and just do a button band and turn down collar - you will have far more chance of finishing it. Also the sleeve - ‘cut’ the band of the wrong one and knit down using the right needles. Reuse the yarn from the band you take off. I think it won’t be so daunting as you already have the colour work set up and don’t need to do a v neck or another huge amount of knitting with the shawl collar. That’s my cents worth! Best of luck Karen 🧶🇳🇿🤞

Good for you I frogged a few things recently. I make a list so I can prioritize. I commit to something 1 inch a day or every day I’ll do at least 2 rows or 10 depending on the project. I also keep track of projects in a notebook ticking off the rows so that if it lingers I know where I left off. Life happens and it falls by the wayside always but then we reevaluate. Cia from a Swedish podcast used to make a bingo card with projects and yarn that she wanted to knit. That I’ve done too. Setting goals is motivating, I’m going to break for the sleeves by the weekend, I’m going to only knit this sleeve until it’s done. I knit the Felix in May June except the button hole band…I just need to decide on buttons and how many…yes… nice to see your projects. BTW I love petite knits Teddy Pants. My go to baby gift. I used to make Baby Surprise by E Zimmerman

I also have lots of WIPs. Some are in time out because I either messed up or ran out of yarn, or even because I can’t follow the pattern. 😅 My Spark Cardigan is in time out because I had already split for sleeves and knit a few rows before I realized I didn’t do all the decreases you’re supposed to do before splitting for sleeves! It’s so good to see I’m not alone here. Rachel S.

Thanks for this WIP episode, so enjoyable! Recently picked up a Dec 2022 WIP Ranunculus knit in Schachenmayr Catania cotton purchased on a 2022 trip to NB. Stopped knitting as I wanted this Ranunculus to be less open knitted fabric and concern with getting the look I wanted caused me to put it aside. Ripped out a bit, recalculated the measurements and hoping it will now fit the way I want!

I’m here in So Cal. I am choosing 74 as my temp. We have little humidity though unless it’s the marine layer in the mornings but about 55-65 degrees. My air conditioning is 74 so I can knit pretty much everything with a low fan if needed. Great episode! You’ve inspired the Anker Tee and the Sparks Cardy to start for me 😂. Cool cloudy morning here and it’s noon. Will be closing up the house soon though and keep on knitting. I loved the short of you girls at the yarn store 😂. TY again for sharing ❤

A lovely surprise episode! Thankyou. I am knitting on some colourwork socks watching along. Kaity, the European Shawl could make a great car project, easy to pick up and put down. Can you pass the Felix to your Mum and aske her to finish it for you? Spark, add ribbing to the top of the sleeves, call them legwarmers and be done? The Alpine Glow sweater, knit a few more inches in plain and you could have a lovely knitted skirt for your dd as the neckband would make a great waistband! Can you keep the headband near your morning coffee spot and do a few rounds then, or maybe when your dh is reading to the children each night? (I vote to frog the newspaper top, just didn't seem you were really feeling it.). Diana, I think you should frog the baby pants, and the Tesselated as your face really said it, the Marie Wallin top too. The yarn will make something else lovely. The poncho - if you bound of where you are, and did an edging, maybe applied icord around the edge in a contrast colour you'd have a beautiful baby blanket. Just sayin'. Would save reskeining etc too. Stay well and look forward to seeing you all again soon🧶🧶💐
