It is amazing that some words sound the same in French and Russian. Актер, журналист, душ. Easy to learn.

There are too many similiar words between Français and Turkish. We are writing and pronounce them at the same time as their pronouncation in French. It makes French just a "little bit" easier to learn for us. But just a little bit. :) Still lacking with the "r" sound. Will take time to get over. Thanks for the lesson Alicia, very helpful.

Very good explanation. Can you provide the more similar style like Jenny in German? Sometimes more examples is more useful than explanation.
@lingoniFRENCH4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I've tried in the following videos to provide about 10 examples every time as it is very helpful indeed.

Can you please explain "c'est" and the euqestion: "Quel est." How's it different from Qualle est?
@abdurraufabdulmajeed6649Ай бұрын
Hello Alicia, Quick one pls. In the previous video, I learnt that you use DU for the male object and de la for feminine I.e., il a du temps, Elle a de la patience. But in this example, you said : Quel est le métier DE Marc. Isn’t Marc a male object. Hence shouldn’t be : Quel est le métier DU Marc? Would be lovely to hear from you. Thanks.

Et and est are different right? I have heard people saying them as exactly the same.
@lingoniFRENCH2 жыл бұрын
You are right, in some regions of France, this difference between the open and the close "e" literally does not exist and the pronunciation of these two words would be exactly the same. I do pronounce them differently though.

Do we use this only for professions? I guess there must be many other occasions we might be required to use l'article zéro, I'm just reasoning...

When I use dan or dans. I do not know when I choice of of them and what is the meaning of dans or dan . And when I choice “sa” and what it’s mean in sentence. And also “se film” . Why you use “se” and its mean in sentence thanks in advance best

I'm a bit confused with Il est vs C'est uses.
@lingoniFRENCH5 жыл бұрын
Hi, In summary: *Impersonal Subject Pronoun Singular → c'est Plural → ce sont “C’EST” is followed by a noun. C’EST + ADJECTIVE always masculine singular is very common. *Personal Subject Pronoun Singular → il/elle est Plural → ils/elles sont IL EST” (ELLE EST, ILS/ELLES SONT) is followed by an adjective. It is + Place, It is + Time and Other Expressions More details: www.thoughtco.com/french-expressions-cest-vs-il-est-4083779

Hello Alicia, can I ask why is it "C'est un excellent acteur" and not "Il est un excellent acteur" ? I thought "c'est" is for describing things and not people?
@lingoniFRENCH2 жыл бұрын
Hi dear, You would say: "Il est acteur", but if you add some info to qualify the noun actor, then you use c'est + un ou le before the noun: C''est un acteur merveilleux / C'est l'acteur qui joue dans mon film préféré.

When you said 'Marie est avocate', I thought you were supposed to liaise 'est' with 'avocat' so that you pronounce it as 'etavocate'. Is my observation wrong?
@lingoniFRENCH4 жыл бұрын
Bonjour ! That's a good question :) The linking after être + a noun/adjective/preposition/verb is optional. You can make it if it sounds softer to you and comes up naturally, but it's not a mistake not to do it. Hope that helped!

il faudra utiliser "mauvais". Marc est un mauvais avocat.

Think you for your videos, they are amazing but PLEASE PLEASE don't say the wrong things so many times. For me as I'm learning French from scratch on my own, nothing sounds naturally, and I'm hearing the false things in your videos so many times. Maybe it would be okay to say it once or twice just as a warning and write it at the screen a few more times. Anyway, merci beaucoup Alicia!

Hello Alicia, I have a question. Do the adjectives come before the noun the same way in English? Or they come after the noun like in Spanish?
@remythemouse2 жыл бұрын
i am not a native speaker but as far as i know the adjective comes after the noun but there are exceptions like jeune, vieux, beau, joli, bon, petit, grand, gros, meilleur, nouveau
