J`adore tes cours de french... different question: at 8:50 you say "Tu n`es jamails allee a Londres?" and the answer is "Tu devrais!" ...my question is, why you don`t have to say "Tu y devrais!" ...I thought if you refer to a previous place/location mentioned you always have to use "y" in the answer and that the "y" is not optional.

Salut salut! Tu devrais means "you should", if I say" you should go there", then I could say tu devrais "y" aller. But Tu devrais is some advice I give to you, on one side, and the second part is referring to the place with the verb "aller". Remember that Y is substituting a place and that tu devrais cannot be followed directly by a place, you cannot say "you should where?" but you can say" you go where?". Hope this is kind of answering the question haha.

@@lingoniFRENCH Thank you 😊👍🏻 yeah this explanation helped me a lot :) my mistake was translating it to/from my mother tongue German. Here you say: du (you/tu) solltest (should/devrais) dorthin (similar like "there", so you could compare it with french "y".). And in German you actually can use "dorthin"/the place, even without the "go" verb. Actually it would sound really strange not to use "there"/"dorthin" and just say: du solltest. 😅 but yeah if you compare it to english and explain it that way its logical for me that you cannot say "you should there" 🤣 and that it works the same way in french :) thank you!
