There is a chrome extension called language reactor that does the same thing but is far superior, it also has an AI chat bot that is cheeky and fun.

Agreed. I use it with Netflix. When I'm being a good student, I take notes and pause, look up stuff. But I keep it on also when I'm just chilling with a video. Just a bit more exposure and passive learning.

I looked this up and the tool Qroo Paul is talking about here gets a higher star rating . Why do you say it’s better ? I think after all this awesome content he has freely given us I’ll stick with what he advises
@ADougans5 ай бұрын
@@buttaboo5846 I agree, QRoo Paul is brilliant, I love his content. I’ve used both programs. The one i suggested has a free version and much more functionality. The one I suggested works with your Netflix or KZbin videos. So basically tons and tons of free content, also shows you’d actually want to watch.

Love that you said, "polygot", Paul! I said that early in my uoutube lingu-ing! It is good to return to your channel, sir! I swamped myself with language videos, and made playlists that were faaaaarrr too long, and overworked my passion for tongues. Then the fall arrived, y la estación de cazar de los benado... oh, heck, can't remember how to spell it in Español, deer hunting. (My passions cycle through the year). Congratulations on one hundred thousand subscribers. Es un regalo bueno para usted en este tiempo del año. ¡Feliz Navidad, señor! Para usted, y su esposa, Feliz Navidad.

I trialed Lingopie a while ago. While I don't think it would work as a language learning tool, I do think it's a great resource for vocabulary building and ear training for more advanced learners.

Hi Paul. I tried lingo pie about 18 months ago but the content then wasn’t that great- in my opinion. From what I saw on your video it seems to now give a much better choice of films etc so might be worth another go. I already watch my films on Netflix in Spanish, and usually have English subtitles. This works very well for me. 🙂xx

Thank you Paul. I am a Floridian learning Spanish and while there are many native speakers here, as you know, I was wondering which apps you endorse to help my learning. I use Duolingo but clearly there is a lot that it is not helpful with. I like Duo's vocabulary help and it's easy to use. I have been getting better but I need more listening practice. Thanks.

I have often wondered if Mexican kids programming would help new learners get a little more "immersed" in the language and help learn. I've searched for the Spanish equivalent of Sesame Street or Dora the Explorer or something. I mean, my kids picked up and still know a lot of Spanish just by watching Dora and Diego. My wife and I have set a goal to learn Latin American Spanish together, so we are definitely going to look into this. Muchas Gracias, Paul!

Just signed up. I will post a review after the seven day trial period. My Spanish level is advanced beginner. EDIT I can't figure out how to use it. When I sign into the site, all I get is the signup site and it won't go anywhere else. Suggestions, Paul?

I am using lingopie but unfortunately my vocabulary is still not where it needs to be for it to be very helpful. I am almost at 'cartoon level' of viewing and when I get there, I figure I will have such an easier time learning. The 'slow down' feature is awesome and so too is the way that you can look up each word and create a learning database for yourself.

I'm trying to learn as much as I can, as fast as I can, before I go back down to see my fiance in the Dominican Republic at the start of February 2024. And I still feel like its day one for me. I have watched almost all of Qroo Creo lessons and taken almost 10 pages of notes along the way, but I still have no clue how to comprehend when Spanish is spoken back to me. Even subscibed to Spanishpod 101 and still feel am jsut not getting it. Maybe I need to go to college. Any advice would be appreciated.

If I am not able to roll my R, how do I sound an R at the beginning of a word or a RR in the middle. Should I say it like an American R or a tapped R... Thank you
@QrooSpanish5 ай бұрын
I would opt for the tapped R although in Costa Rica they often use an American R. Something unique about that dialect on single Rs.
@anneli17355 ай бұрын
Don’t worry that much! There are native Spanish speakers not being able to roll the R as well, sometimes they would be trained by a specialist like a linguistic therapist just in case parents can pay for it 🤔 As a northern German native I would use the English pronunciation (like in “reading” I had to learn at school back then) to overcome my lack of native ability producing the R in my throat instead of using the tongue 🙄 You will be understood by using the English pronunciation 😉

I had been contemplating trying Lingopie for a while now. Signed up a few days ago. Listening comprehension is (in my view) my biggest challenge currently. @QrooSpanish - here is an idea/suggestion for a video, maybe even a whole new playlist. How about some videos on Mexico-specific ways of saying things. It's definitely not like I have been learning from my grammar books.

Can i ask? what is "hay que" means
@davidcattin70065 ай бұрын
Hay que + infinitive is used to express the idea of “one must do something” or, “it is necessary to do something.” Hay que caminar más rápido si queremos llegar a tiempo. Hay que beber más agua para mantener buena salud. Many other examples on websites and KZbin.

I bought the lifetime subscription, thinking it was an early product that would improve, but that hasn't been the case. If you step into their discord, you'll see that it's full of complaints, bug reports, etc. and its developers aren't very active, going days without responding. And then the bugs people report go unfixed anyway. The non-Netflix videos they host tend to be lower quality, and, judging by how the "Top 10" list has been the same for months, they don't seem to be adding anything else. So you're missing a lot if you don't spring for a $20/month Netflix subscription on top of it. I love the idea behind it, but the execution is just so undercooked right now. Nevertheless, I see ads for it EVERYWHERE. And that gives me the impression that they're spending their entire revenue stream on marketing, and not on improving the product at all.

@QrooSpanish5 ай бұрын
It expresses obligation to do something without naming a specific subject. Hay que estudiar. One has to study. Hay que llegar temprano para conseguir una mesa. One has to arrive early to get a table.
