Do you also use the AI-Features of LingQ and what other features related to AI would you like to see? What are your biggest pain points within LingQ? Thanks for watching! :)

Steve or Dustin, can you please give us more examples how this new feature works? I'm also using lingq but I can't figure out how can I get advantage of this feature (I tried with Chinese, I pressed Semplefied Al and everything was just translated into English).
@DustinSchermaul10 ай бұрын
I haven't learned any Asian language yet, so I can't really speak for Chinese. If it doesn't get simplified in Chinese, then there has to be a bug! Definitely make sure to report that to the team of LingQ that they can fix it and/or ask in the forum for help. Sorry that I can't help you more :(. @@januss4194

@DustinSchermaul Thank you again, I have tried a little bit and I figured out that it also works for Chinese :) It is a really nice feature.

This sounds great - I use LingQ but I confess to only using the most basic features. It’s been a real struggle sometimes to find material at a correct level for me, this sounds perfect.

In the end, it's just about making progress and not getting bored out along the way. So not using all the features available is totally fine :). Let me know how the simplification feature worked for you. You'll get there!

Hey man, great video, any idea how to use this feature for bigger lessons. Simplify Ai button doesnot show up in some big lessons, like 40-45 minut audo files. i think it is limited to 30mins
@DustinSchermaul10 ай бұрын
Phew, that's a really good question. To be honest, I haven't tried it for longer files yet. I guess this question would be something for the LingQ Forum! Sorry not to be able to help you further :(.

Moin Dustin and thanks for this great tip. I'm using Lingq for quite some time, sometime more, sometime less. Always eager to explore new apps ;-) - but Lingq keeps its top position, with feature even more. How do you learn phrases? Do you use Anki as well or do you just use the phrases from LingQ?
@DustinSchermaul10 ай бұрын
Moin Jörg :), you're welcome! Same for me here. I'm also constantly trying out new things, but so far LingQ has definitely kept its place in my app list on the top. To be honest, if I want to learn specific phrases and/or words, then I put them into my Anki deck. It gives me better control about what I want to learn deliberately. So only stuff goes in there that I want to use in conversation or that I noticed I had trouble with learning so far, just reading content, to speed things up a bit.

How do you best use lingQ for learning? Do you go through their course first?
@DustinSchermaul10 ай бұрын
So it depends on my level of language. But when I start fresh, I usually start with the standard LingQ super beginner content and try to fight my way up to the ministories. Once I'm able to work with them, I extensively study them. That means I would read and listen to them over and over again. Because I know already all the stories by heart (content wise), it really helps me to digest it. Of course, if the language has a different script, then I would advise to work on that first. But as said, I haven't studied a language with a different script yet, so I'm probably not the best person to advise on that.

I mean you can not get easier task than that. It only comes down to the actual effort. The equation is easier nowadays. Chatgpt, frequency lists and content creation to master the 5 -10 thousand words and then you can roam through the language or go down the literature path which is more abstract.
@DustinSchermaul10 ай бұрын
Yes, we have more tools at hand, but that can also feel overwhelming. But especially for languages that have less available resources, AI can make the difference. There will be more and more integrations to come.

Thanks Dustin. Has the Generate Audio feature been there a while or is it new AI audio?

You're welcome! Yes, that feature has been there for a while, but hasn't been improved yet. Hopefully we'll get better voices soon!

The AI does not work as well for small languages, like Icelandic, as it seems to do for the bigger languages. The AI transcripts for Icelandic are still quite inaccurate. I'm sure this will improve in the future though.
@DustinSchermaul10 ай бұрын
Hm, sorry to hear that :(. Haven't tested it for “smaller” languages to be honest, but I expect them to also improve in the future. Especially for those, it would be even more useful, because of the scarcity of material to learn with.
