Mortin's Mariokart facts: Keep in mind that items are distributed based on distance and place. This means the further away 1st place is from you, the better items you get. If first place has a big lead, then there is a greater chance for a shock or birdy bomb(blue shell) to be pulled. This also means that if you have a bigger lead, you are more likely to get bull crap like a coin. This is why when playing online, you should not front run. Of course, if you play with frantic items, all this gets thrown out the window.
