Mods like these just tell you how much the fandom wants a Dark Souls type game in the franchise. If not in the exact gameplay then in the story/aesthetics of the game. The 64 games really were the template for macabre in the Zelda universe and fans really want it back.

I immediately clicked with Dark Souls because it was exactly the parts of the Zelda games that I loved. Though, I wish DS had some more puzzle stuff going on. Not box pushing, but like, break a chain and it opens a drawbridge. Or push rock and it breaks down a wall. There is some of that, but not nearly to the extent I desire.

Don't confuse dark souls with dark theme. We want dark theme zeldas, not dark souls zeldas.

The way you level up in Dark Souls always felt like a perfect modern evolution of how you level up in Zelda 2, not to mention the difficulty and close quarters combat, even monster design to an extent in DS1 I've always wanted a game/hack to try to bring the Zelda 2 system to a later entry, an OOT/MM hack with at least the leveling system would be super fun, or maybe holding the shield button in the air to initiate a downstab and bounce around on enemies

@@Ashtasticle94 My dreams don't concern only OOT and Zelda. Video games are dreams and nightmares fuels. Even if I am 30 years old, video games are some of my roots. Even if they are somewhat abandoned, I dream about them.

No i haven’t, i just played it for the first time ever last week. Debug used to post updates on his channel of this mod a few years back iirc, maybe your thinking of that?

@@bradyonetv Not entirely sure. The map just looks very familiar to me. Though if it wasn't you, it was probably someone else's channel. I can however promise that it's not an exact one-to-one copy of what I remember. Sorry that I can't back up what I'm saying though, I don't remember where I last saw it on KZbin.

This map has been around for a while now. If you look up oot romhack the abyss you should find the original video you're talking about. The abyss had different music and the layout was slightly different in the original so you're definitely right

I'm not trying to be a Jerk here. I just want to politely point out that "YOUR" is not a shorter way to say "you are". I get that being corrected is annoying/infuriating, but it's the truth. I say this, not to be a big jerk, but to hope that we all can do better in the future. People like you in spelling, and people like me who point these out, hoping the other person will improve their writing skills. I don't want to be a bad person. I never want to make enemies on this Platform. I like getting along with others. 🙂
