7:50 - what’s really interesting about that is that that is how he acts when he’s lost his memories and thus has been stripped of the crushing obligations he was put under growing up and then drawing the Master Sword and serving as Zelda’s bodyguard before he was even twenty, so in BotW we’re getting to see the real him and not the stoic facade he put on as the Champion. Also if we’re talking about how badass this incarnation of Link is (paused the vid here so excuse me if you bring it up later), its probably worth bringing up that it’s canonically stated that he was able to beat up fully grown knights when he was like four. Although I’d argue one of his manliest feats is having no hesitation about crossdressing and not giving two shits about people mistaking him for a woman when he does so, thus showing that he’s not poisoned by the toxic masculinity many so-called manly characters are.

The current Link is comic book levels of overpowered. He's at least 19 times faster and several hundred times stronger than a normal person immediately after waking up from a coma. He l, in canon, can deflect lasers with a pot lid. He kills all 4 of the creatures that kill his friends. There's a reason hes the only person we ever see swing a sword so hard that it shatters.

My favorite Nickname (not title) that Link has had is Grasshoper from Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess (Agatha calls him that if you talk to her for the first time in the green tunic, but she can also call him Jewel Beetle if he's wearing the Zora Armor)

Like Lucas, love the Zelda series. Unless I'm misremembering, the only attack that most enemies can't block in Twilight Princess is the draw attack, whatever it's called. Playing through Tears of the Kingdom had been a blast. It took Breath of the Wild, and added some temples that feel like an interesting hybrid between older zelda and botw

Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom didn't take out dungeons, they just split them up and spread them around the whole world. The Divine Beasts and the Temples in those games are basically a dungeon trimmed down to the single big set piece puzzle most dungeons they have and then all the smaller single room puzzles are turned into shrines and in some cases expanded beyond what most games would have them be. The only thing that you don't get is the expanding power set that most games have, since the champion powers and sage powers are more just added convenience tools than full blown items, but they didn't take that away, really, they just gave you everything from the start

I very much agree about the criticism I got into Zelda later I haven’t played all the games but I’ve played enough to know the Zelda format from what I’ve played it was obvious to me that the other games weren’t hiding what you need to do it’s always there in the room or a small side room maybe it’s hidden in a box or behind some sort of action or puzzle but it’s there and not too difficult considering I’m dasabled so I play with one hand and even I can do them exactly like BOTW TOTK if anything I’ve found these games more difficult considering since I can’t beat certain monsters without needing a million potions or food to heal me lynel being the top example there the reason I gave up on 100% the game I’ve beaten one to this day I hate flux constructs and am avoiding the gleeoks until I build some sort of death machine lol

@@curethedarkness Sounds familiar :p Oy vey… There are things one of them has written… Helped force a developer to out themselves to make it easier to “win” arguments on Twitter. It’s impossible to win arguments on Twitter. So progressive. It’s “officially canon” now, instead of “fscking obvious”. Now people on Twitter are just angry instead of in denial. Totally worth that. No, don’t retract those statements. Glad we never met, because that would have ended up awkward one way or another… I don’t remember, but I hope I wasn’t on the same episode of a podcast (which I quit), ever. Found reviews useful. I always disagree, so I could count on them being useful. I hate new games, though. Well, I just went off. Don’t really regret it!

I really hope they keep the open-world aspects of BotW and TotK, but I'd love to see a different type of gameplay than the crafting/hunting stuff. Stealth, or more complex combat, or like magic mechanics would be fun. And the story is just not very well built to service the open world. I do wish they had a good way to fix that, either by changing the story based on which area you solve first, or make the story more linear even in the open world with open-world side quests, IDK.

From what they've said here, I guess I really do need to play more TOTK haha. What I've played so far I did like, But honestly wouldn't give over an 8 just because of how similar it feels to BOTW. I mean heck they kept both Koroks and Shrines in, They couldn't've even at the least kept the mechanics functionally the same but renamed them? But no, I shall not be swift on judgement, I shall play more as it is fun, And then judge it. -I shall judge it as still not being the best Zelda game because just as I feel with BOTW it just doesn't feel as much like a Zelda game as some of the others, Even if it is better as a game.-

my main complaint about the puzzles is not that they give you what you need to solve it. that's the definition of a puzzle, you cann ot solve it without all the pieces and making you backtrack to get the pieces is bullshit. the issue i have is that they give you ONLY what you need to solve the puzzle, i feel the game would be much better if they threw in stuff zonai devices that have nothing to do with the puzzle, just so the thought process doesn't go: "oh there's a fan, a cart and a railway, clearly i should attack a fan to the cart and then ride the railway" instead why not throw the fan and the cart in with a glider, a balloon and a water hydrant?

I don't like *most* racing games. Mario Kart, Diddy Kong Racing, and - quite surprisingly - Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit [the 2010 original* on PC at least. I have not played other versions of NFS:HP so have nothing to base opinion on. However, I would likely find the 2010 console versions less appealing if they lack the extensive vehicle customisation offered by the PC version. (Not a "PC master race" thing! There are some games I like better on console, like: Disgaea 5 Complete, Dragonball FighterZ, Reventure, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, and probably more.)] to name only a few. However, if I were to review a racing game such as… I dunno… some nascar racing game, or a formula one racing game… they have racing games, right? In any case, if I had to review one - and by extension had played one for an extended period of time; because if I reviewing the game was part of a paying job, I would want to get *at least* a fair way into the game so it's not just a review of the first track or something - I'd certainly mention what annoyed me most; like if the controls where way to snappy causing me to pretty much spin out every time I did a full* turn, so I had to do half or quarter turns to take corners. But I would also mentioned things that made the experience less of a struggle* for me as someone disinterested in the genre; like if sometimes pit crew NPCs would grab an additional tire, and whichever has the extra tire would turn back to put it back with the new tires before returning to the rest of the pit crew to finish getting my vehicle retuned quickly. Stuff like that is kind of funny. Honestly, number ratings are kind of dumb. Numbers work great when things are objective. A character with 87 strength is going to be objectively better than a character with 66 strength in whatevever things in the game checks for high strength [because lets be honest, there will be games that will be like "oh no; you drank a strength potion, and with your 232 strength you obliterated the treasure chest and everything in it" or somesuch similar]. It would also be more useful if the people reviewing games in a genre have at least a passing interest in said games' genre.

I'm one of those that miss the classc puzzle aspect, dungeons, items, and general mechanics of old Zelda. Specifically 3d zelda. I also miss my weapons not breaking and being able to go underwater. Breath and tears are brilliant games, i love them so much and appreciate the effort they put into making them.... I'm just a bit disappointed is all. For not listening to the fans, minus 1. For not improving the game, minus 1. For attacking content creators, minus 1. Review is a minimum of 7/10.
