I think this is the second one of your videos to come across my feed. I was at work when I heard the first one but I made sure to subscribe. Great job. I've been playing links Awakening since it first came out on the game boy, and have been a Zelda fan since 1987 when I was 5 years old. I feel lucky to be able to spend my life and growing up with Zelda and experiencing the games and lore that come with it.

Wow thanks so much for your encouragement! I’m totally with you; Zelda has been a companion of mine for pretty much my whole life, and this game in particular is really special. Glad you enjoyed the video!

This game has such a special place in my heart, and has been one of my favorites since first playing it on our old, grey brick Gameboy. No game deserved such a lovingly made remake more! Excellent video on this classic, as always!

Oh my goodness, same here! My older brother had an original Gameboy, and this was his oldest and most special game. After all the others (besides Pokémon) made their way into garage sales years later, I always knew where to find this one. And I agree, the remake was a real treat, and I had a blast getting to reflect on it for this video! Thanks for your encouragement and thoughts, as always!!

Excellent video, Daniel. I think your videos are getting better as you go on. I liked how you broke this game down to its elements and showed what makes it special and how it progressed the series. This is probably my favorite video yet, can’t wait for Twilight Princess!

This is great, I don’t remember the last time a channel went in more about how the game makes you feel instead of the gameplay itself. God bless you!

Thank you so much for saying that! So glad you connected with it. It’s been really rewarding to look at these games I love and ask how I can learn from them, and I’m glad I get to share that with others!

Always been very passionate about this game. I've always appreciated the secret ending which reveals that not everything was a dream like you'd been told the whole game. I consider it on par with Ocarina of Time as a whole with a world as rich as Termina and music as iconic as Wind Waker. Really excited to watch this episode. Every video that goes by that the algorithm doesn't choose to promote you is another video I get to watch as a ground-floor fan.

Thanks so much man! I'm right there with you; this game has always been a special one for me. It was one of my older brother's first Gameboy games, and no matter how many times I experience it over the years, it still hits me right in the feels when I reach that ending. It really blows me away how boldly this game pushed the envelope for the series, given that it could've been just a side game on a handheld. This really is such a special, impactful adventure, and I am honored I get the chance to reflect on it for the channel. Glad I get to share it with you, Levi!

And isn’t it great? I obviously played through it for this episode, but even as I was editing, I was like, “Dang, I gotta play through this again.” Really is a special game.

It’s so great! Definitely worth picking up, and they’ve added a good bit of extra content to bring the original Gameboy game up to console standards. You’ll love it!

My favorite 2D Zelda. I do wish they had gone for a different art style for the remake. They stuck too close to the look of the original instead of trying to make it look like the original art intention.

That’s an interesting take on the art style! I definitely was a bit taken aback when I saw the first trailer, because I never would’ve expected them to go with like a toy aesthetic. You’ve got a good point; it would’ve been cool to see them take more inspiration from the classic artwork, kinda like the opening cutscene does. In the end, though, I’m just glad the visuals come out looking as fresh and inspired as the do and not bland like the Pokemon Gen 4 remakes. It’s interesting to compare the two approaches to a top-down chibi art-style!
