I don’t understand why people can’t accept the fact that Link CAN beat Cloud, I would even say about 8/10 or posssibly 9/10 of the time. And a fight ISN’T ABOUT STRENGTH! Just because Cloud beat Sephiroth (with a team so he didn’t even beat him single handily) and a Bahamut Sin doesn’t automatically decide the better fighter. What makes a strong fighter is the fighter themselves, and Link has generations of experiences ahead of Cloud, not only would Link be considered the more experienced one but Link is a better 1-on-1 fighter than Cloud while Cloud would be a better fighter with a team. Link is a smarter and faster thinker than Cloud, more versatile than Cloud, and has the defense advantage over Cloud. Cloud may be faster and stronger but that isn’t going to be enough to beat someone who’s shield alone can cause just about 75% of your struggle in the fight, has generations of experience ahead of you (because of Link’s reincarnation that literally comes with the fighting experience), and has almost an endless arsenal that would actually be pretty hard to keep track of in the fight. Especially since Link literally has an item that is good for literally every single situation (in every game I might add) And for intelligence as fighters, I can say that Cloud is definitely no idiot, HOWEVER he can be emotional and rash which is exactly what put him leagues behind Link every time you see Link in ANY cutscene Link is always calm and collected and ready for a fight, and since most if not all the fights in Zelda require a strategy (even if it’s an easy one) and Link would always know how to use his weapons and items to his advantage, and being a calmer fighter will always triumph against someone who can be rash at times. I know these fights doesn’t do in depth research but I just don’t want people to blindly assume that Cloud is better than Link because of his feats. It’s not about what they have accomplished it’s about what they can do and in all honesty Link DOES INDEED have a better chance at beating Cloud than Cloud does at beating Link, Cloud can beat him there’s no doubt about that but it’s actually pretty unlikely and would require Cloud being completely unpredictable and ruthless (like going full on beserk) to beat Link

62swordsmen What do cloud mean he beat him with a team. Maxed cloud can solo and one shot sephiroph. Even without being maxed, there's still things like reflect, haste, dual cast, limit breaks that aren't cross slash. He could even cast reflect then bounce spells like death off himself, which can't be reflected again.

You can't say Link is a calmer fighter because he doesn't have a personality, and past lives don't equal experience. It seems that since The Legend of Zelda is a game where you are forced to be fully equipped with other tools by the end of the game to finish the puzzles, people just go with Link can do all this shit, but Cloud has to be his bare self and this doesn't make any sense. You might just as well claim the Hylian Shield is a liability since Link is not used to pain as much as Cloud who was kebabed more than once and uses his own sword as a shield.

Douglas Rosa Link uses the majority of gear in all of his games from a canon standpoint. Cloud does not use things like KotR, Death, Stop, etc... that's more of just to give customization to the player rather than what Cloud would normally use in combat. Cloud does not beat the game ff7 canonwise solo, that's done by the player. Even in AC it's mentioned everyone was with him in ff7 up to the final battle where Cloud was solo in the scripted fight. Cloud was stabbed in CC where he was saved thanks to Jenova/Mako infusion with help from Zack, and in AC he nearly died after the fight against Sephiroth, but was saved by Aerith's intervention and teleported to the church in the sector slums.

im always wondering why cloud often loses to link in this battles... i am more of a zelda fan but the things cloud does deff overshadow link's skills imo... c'mon the dude dashes like he flies at super speeds, summons meteors from space, can whitstand a freaking supernova to the face... Link is resourceful but deff not trained the way Cloud is. besides link is superbuffed in these battles... i neve seen link take those kind of jumps or move at this speed in any zelda game at max i seen him jump a few meters with help of the rock feather which OoT link lacks(this link). i also see people saying Link is smarter than Cloud which i dont believe it to be true... in both games the battles are tactically determined by you... the player who plays both games. in each game you have to find the enemy's weakness and exploit it. imo they are on even grounds on that one. as i mentioned i love link but c'mon haha...

Quique Leal actually this link is Twilight princess link, you can tell by his belt, and the fact that he does the triforce slash as a finisher. Twilight princess link canonically has the most physical strength and speed of all the links. I'm unsure if every link could be beat cloud, but if any link can beat cloud, it's definitely twilight princess link.

Quique Leal oot link cant do triforce slash, and the chest belt belong to tp link. Ocarina of time links chest belt splits into two parts, whereas this links belt splits into 3 parts like tp link. The only other thing I can suggest is that this is a hybrid link, because oot link simply does not have triforce slash.
