@@finallythere100 True, the title had a lot to do with it - but I also heard (from Link himself) that some stations banned it because it "just sounded too sexual, y'know, the rhythm was like..." (grinning from ear to ear) and that is even better, right?

As a native North Carolinian (and part Native American), it would be very cool if Dunn could honor Link Wray with a statue, mural, museum, etc. North Carolinians should take pride and celebrate his life and accomplishments especially the profound impact he had on rock'n'roll.

I saw Link Wray open for the James Gang in 1974 at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. I had never heard such an onslaught of raw distortion when he launched into Rumble. I first took note of Link Wray when he played with Robert Gordon in the 70’s and got hit imideately. He was raw in the best possible way. Unfortunately i’ve never heard or saw him in concerts, although I saw him a couple of times in the audience at the Glam Rock Festival in Esbjerg, Denmark. I recognized him at once, but didn’t dare go for an autograph. 😂 It really was my plan to bring the Bullshot album cover the following years, as i used to see him sitting in the grass and enjoying the music.

We played the LP to death and i still never tire of it. I have now collected loads of his recordings, and he has also been the key to me hearing and appreciating other music. @@GEEKORMAN people don't realise how much 🔗 Link Ray way head of his time just shows artists from the 1950s inspired people I am a Teddy Boy 🎶🎼📻 My man is Buddy Holly 👓, also Eddie Cochran, Eddie Cochran and Buddy Holly 👓 where both way head of there time as well. Eddie Cochran was doing things with his Guitar 🎸 people weren't doing had a unique sound also played the Drums self taught on the Guitar and the 🥁 Drums that's how good Eddie Cochran was. If they had both lived Eddie Cochran and Buddy Holly 👓 they would of wrote songs for other artists they had the vision that music 🎶🎼 changes and evolves that's how good they would of been. Thanks 🙏 Paul the Ted ✊👊🎵👓🎶🎼🥁🎸🔗

Will try to hit Dunn this summer to check it out. Never been there but am curious. Doesn't look like Linkfest is still going on.

I know Linkfest stopped during the pandemic, not sure if they ever tried to do it again.
