At the end, Chester says about Chris Cornell, “He’s got the most beautiful voice.” No truer words ever spoken. To have lost those 2 artists in such a short span of time left a void in many a man’s soul, including mine. I come back to these videos to reacquaint myself with the spirit that poured out of these men. Their legacy lives on forever. Peace

Wow. Chester's a great vocalist. But Chris Cornell walks on stage and takes Chester's highest high note and looks like he's strolling in the park. Then he does harmonies on the chorus that the band probably never could have conceived. And all the while he looks like a Jedi master. The world will miss you, Chris.

The way the timbres of their voices blend together on the harmonies is (chef’s kiss). Chester’s naturally high, nasally (in a good way) voice and Chris’s full-chested baritone compliment each other so well. And the way Chris casually strolls across the stage singing the 2nd verse making it look so easy. What a legend.

They both struggled with similar demons. I'm sure it gave each of them strength when they saw each other pushing through each day and trying to stay positive. I'm sure it impacted Chester tremendously when Chris gave into his overwhelming depression. I hope all people start taking depression and mental illness more seriously and talk openly about it. I'm not sure that Chris Cornell was on the kinds of meds that would help him effectively and therapy. They were both amazing people and artists and will always be greatly missed.

I grew up on Linkin park. I still remember being too broke to purchase their hybrid theory cd when I was in 6th grade, so I borrowed it from a friend and recorded the whole thing on tape. (People can attest to this) I would walk with my portable tape player to recess everyday and just indulge in their music. Later on, mom and pops bought me reanimation and meteora for my birthday. I was the happiest kid alive. Hearing about Chester today really broke me down. May he rest easy.

I meant that Chris doesn't seem aware of how directly his words relate to his own situation and appreciating that energy around my two favorite vocalists ever is too much to put into words. All I can see is the real friendship they have. I love how Chester smiles while seeing Chris. I guess living in this world without your favorite person is really hard. I just feel that Chris is one of the best reasons why Chester is still living despite his misery, but when that person dies, it's like there's no point to continue life at all. It's sad that their demons consumed them. Such great artists who left us great music. I wish that people who are experiencing agony will find peace and heal themselves thru Chester's creations. Life is beautiful. Music is beautiful. And learning how artists create these masterpieces would really hit us hard and understand them deeper. I can't put into words how sad I am about Chester's passing. Most people around me wouldnt understand me. Theyd say that they are just a band. But, they saved me. They accompanied me. They healed me. They spoke the words I can't even think of. It feels like a really close friend had died. We will miss you..

This isn't 'nu metal'... compare this song with stuff like KoRn, System Of A Down or Deftones- does it honestly sound the same to you?
@user-oy7gz5bf2h2 жыл бұрын
@@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid Those three bands are very different from one another. They actually stand as three of the most distinct sounds of the era. There where many more bands that sounded more alike. For what it's worth, the first time I heard Linkin Park on the radio I thought "Oh, another one of those..!" But I later came to appreciate their music. They did their own thing.
@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid2 жыл бұрын
@@user-oy7gz5bf2h these bands don't all sound the same, it's true- but they definitely have shared elements. The kinds of guitar riffs, the vocal styles and the rhythm centric approach are all shared there- and none of these things are in LP's music. People (including you) probably thought LP was nu metal because of the scratching and raps- but that's not enough to make it nu metal. They're alt rock.
@user-oy7gz5bf2h2 жыл бұрын
@@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid To me, Linkin Park will always stand as a good example of the genre and of the era. Not that they lacked personality, but they did use many of what made NuMetal what it was. Heavy music with distorted guitars, rap sections, angst centric lyrics. I could argue the other bands you named aren't the best examples of the time either. (not trying to start a fight here, I just enjoy a good discussion) Deftones have said in various interviews that they didn't really feel part of the movement. They where doing their thing before the term arose and have since changed a lot from what I would consider NuMetal. But in the end, it doesn't even matter.

Cari Rebo Let's let God make that decision. I know that suicide can also stir up anger with family, friends, and fans but it doesn't do us any good unless we can learn from it. I have lost enough people in my life in different ways that hopefully by sharing what I have learned, it will assist someone to talk and to get help. There are experiences that people aren't able to deal with individually so it should be no shame in asking for help. A doctor isn't going to make your head smaller but they may encourage you to express your feelings about the situations in your life. Too often we deny our emotions and that isn't healthy because the emotions pile up until we can't hold them in any longer. That's when the bad things happen where we hurt others, ourselves, animals, or property and that isn't cool... unless it's your own property that isn't alive. Even then it can be messed up. I have seen the ignorant and thoughtless memes making fun of these two tortured souls and it's the same type of people who caused the pain to these guys in the first place . That's not okay and it needs to disappear.

Hey my friend. Even though it hurts, even though it sucks... You have a good birthday. Live the life these two awesome guys couldn't. Don't let this world break you or break your heart. I felt what your feeling and trust me it passes. It takes a long while, but it does. These two guys unbeknownst to them helped me in a few times of need so, this is me paying it forward.

Autumnchild753 that's the exact thing a lot of people need to hear. And I'm sure if this guy is anything like me, Chester's music has saved his life and he's taken it very hard. I hope more people get to hear the message you've sent. To the metal gamer, the best we can do now is fight the good fight and live a life that would make these two proud. I know it's tough, and I know it hurts like hell, but we keep fighting and we keep going like they would've wanted us to
