@@Draco-oi9bbOne of the original lyrics is "Time is a valuable thing/watch it fly by as the pendulum swings". What an absolutely fantastic little song. One thing I noticed after going through some of your other work is how much more confident your voice is while singing it. It projects so much nicer and really takes its place in the music. Not that it was ever bad! Just it's nice to really feel like the vocals are shining as much as they should, you have an amazing voice and it works so well.

An excellent piece of work, as always! Although now that you've proven it's possible to rap in Classical Latin, you may be in for a deluge of new requests.

I imagine Cicero delivering his speeches in the same way as the rap parts here (and the bridge playing in the background when he got exiled)

I've played this during a thunderstorm accidentally because I got curious, I get goosebumps. P.s. more voice harmony or something that gives it more like a choir singing in the church would be great addition.

I've never listened to the original Linkin Park song, and I'm quite enjoying this cover. As a classical singer myself, it's _very_ refreshing to hear Latin words in a song that aren't liturgical/ecclesiastical!

This sounds so good damn One thing to note about Latin, is that Latin authors would regularly swap the place of words in a sentence, offering better versatility for both rhymes and rhythm A poetic sentence in Latin doesn't actually have to be grammatically correct, so it can offer a lot more options for writing (and singing) XD

swapping the place of words in latin rarely changes the meaning of the sentence, because the syntax is marked within each word, not in the order in which they are organised. so it's not really a grammatical mistake, just a preference. sometimes there'd be actual "grammatical mistakes" (for example using "mi" that has no meaning instead of "mihi", meaning "for me") though as to be able to create fluid rhythm through the metrics of each verse of the poetry

@@bebodadepressao Funny thing is that portuguese inherited this freedom from latin (As it is the last living language to derivate from western vulgar latin, as galician portuguese). Have you ever heard portuguese rap? If not I can recommend you Racionais Mcs. They are G O O D.
@bebodadepressao Жыл бұрын
Do álbum Bluesman. Obrigado pela recomendação!

I can say that it sounds like the situation in Polish. We have a "standard" of sentence arrangement and other arrangements are "technically" grammatically incorrect, but everyone will still understand the meaning of sentence without problem, tho it'll sound funny or weird. And in poems, especially old ones, it was even used very often, to make it easier to keep the rhyme and rhythm.
