You gotta watch the first stop on the tour in LA. She was SO much better than the livestream show. All the nerves were gone, no voice cracks, and she KILLED every song. If you only watch one thing from it, watch her "Keys to the Kingdom". Holy hell. Mike made the right choice.

Firstly, Zane is indeed so clever and sees right through people. Very good interview. Secondly, this whole comeback feels like a big therapy session. Not just for the band, but also for the fans - just look at all the reactions. From people being happy or crying to people lashing out. I certainly underestimated how it would affect me, but in the end (no pun intended) I'm just happy to see them doing well and I hope this will be a successful for them (whatever that will mean).

I’m happy they reunited kudos to Brad and Rob for taking a step back. Who knows Whats over the horizon. I’m not sold on Emily, her history is a red flag. I know she isn’t Chester but she sings the songs without emotion. I know she isn’t attached to those songs but surely bring a fan and knowing who her predecessor was would be huge factors to aid that. I do love the new song, and I’m hopeful but I’m not convinced Emily is the right fit.

I don't agree with you. I think it was emotional just not the same emotion. Nobody will ever do it like Chester and people need to get over it. As far as her back ground if it was such a problem then I doubt she would be allowed in the band. I think people are just coming up with excuses not to like her. I am sure Mike would know how Chester felt more then any fan would

The biggest Takeaway that I got from this interview was when Brad and Joe were speaking about Emily, and when they started to feel that realization that she was the person destined to be the vocalist of this new era. And all of the guys did the same thing but when I heard those two guys speak so highly of her and the energy that she brought into the room and how comfortable they felt at that moment, I got really emotional because those two guys along with Mike and Phoenix and obviously Rob, who is no longer here, were all close to Chester. I really feel like those two individuals along with Mike really are the heartbeat of the band and to know that they had those warm comfortable feelings with her is all the validation I need as a lifelong fan just like you Josh ❤️ Thanks for reacting to this, I agree with everything you said and felt bro

Notice how you're saying "She has Chester mannerisms, and i dont know what it is." You're picking this up halfway into an hour long interview.. Imagine how Mike and the rest of the band felt working with her 6+hours a day, multiple days a week for a few years.. This is what i feel a lot of "fans" are struggling to understand. They didn't choose her because of her vocal ability or how she sounds, they chose her because of the feeling they get when they're all together. She doesnt have to sound like Chester or replicate everything that he did, she has enough similar mannerisms from just being herself to trigger those reminiscent memories of how it felt for the whole band to make music together as Linkin Park.

I spent seven years preparing myself for a new singer. I studied percussion in college -- I'm hella sad that Rob decided to step away from the band. Then I heard that Brad wouldn't be going on tour with the band. And I started having some doubts. 23:50 - THIS is where I started to let myself get excited about this. It was like tugging on Santa Claus' beard and realizing it was real. Because they've been having THIS conversation for seventeen years -- and when I realized that this felt like the Making of Minutes to MIdnight, I knew... this is real. This is not a drill, nor a mistake, they're ACTUALLY back.

I was so shocked at how much I like their stuff and had never heard of them before last week. Such a shame that smaller bands don't get the publicity or breaks they need even when people like Dave Grohl said they would be the next big thing.

I loved when Dave was roasting Zane joking about the "gnarly rumours" they actually came from a certain person who was in a Welsh nu metal band with similar initials to linkin park who's now serving 20 plus years in a UK prison, the person gave an interview with Kerrang and on Zane's xfm show saying that "we aren't a manufactured band like LP" and the press ran with it. So the rumours might of started on Zane's show but it wasn't Zane who started them.

As is with many of us, whether it happened quickly or has taken some time.... clearly she has grown on you since your first listen. And she continues to grow on many of us. There seems to be something there that pulls us in for another listen, another chance, and is infectious. Hence -from zero. It's like starting the process all over again. Possibly falling in love all over again with the band with a new singer/drummer. Even though we've always loved them since Hybrid Theory. It just feels.....fresh again! Lol FYI, I'm a 56 year old musician who's been playing since I was 9 years old. I listen to everything and any genre.....played many styles. But the one thing for sure is..... Good music is still, always good music. No matter where it comes from. I love great production and thrive on that. I can't wait to listen to what comes next.

As someone else commented, yes, you should listen to post-traumatic. It's a very unique album and the misic deviates a lot from the kind of music LP usually makes. That being said, it's a very raw and powerful album that dives deep into grief and how losing Cherster afected him personally. Ther's nothing quite like it, and i think that, you being a LP fan, would benefit from listening to it. I really recommend it.

Mike mentioned in the beginning of the interview that they have 3 different stages: the one for the live stream, the arena stage - the one they're in during the interview and they're using for the mini-tour - and a third, likely more conventional stage for venues where they can't be surrounded by the audience.

Full disclosure.... I never really got into LP first time round. My rock years were late 80's through the 90s primarily so i aware of the tracks but didnt quite connect with that period.... LP, Korn, Limp B etc etc. So Im not as invested as the lifelong LP fans. But this new line up has totally got me. Emptiness Machine is an incredible track and I think youre absolutely right about Emilys charisma. And her voice , to me , is a literally perfect fit. I really hope she doesnt get too much shit from entitled fans. If I was an og fan Id just be stoked to see the band in such a great place even if I didnt like the new song / line up. Chesters legacy will always be there and you can stick on an old LP album anytime and still connect. Change is inevitable.... and healthy. Great reaction man!

They believe that the children, or victims of abuse are responsible for what happened to them. If you don’t understand, please check out Growing up in Scientology for perspective. The Danny Masterson story is just the tip of the iceberg. I’m a diehard LP fan, still listen to three or four songs every day, and I would love to see them go on, but not with a member of cult that can’t connect with the emotional connection that Chester felt with every word! Why do i want to root for her? Just bc the band has accepted her? She crumbled like cake in that live show. Give us something.

@jeremiahzambrotta5580 wait? instagram posts are more important than the fact that original members trust her? what? Mike collaborated with a ton of musicians in these past 7 years, do you need a list of where all of them come from?

You're projecting a lot onto Emily. I was doing this too, for like 4 days after the performance. It finally wore off. This interview leaks so many details that tell us they are building a narrative that isn't inline with reality. And Emily botched that live show, a lot. I don't know if it is how she will turn out to be... because that was the first live show we got to see, but that performance fell off quickly. "The Emptiness Machine" sounded great. Mike makes it sound like that song was already written... it definitely wasn't; that song was written for this moment. It was a "reveal" song made for this single instance where they unveil Emily as the new singer. So, that feels disingenuous. When you get to the existing songs, she tried pushing harder than Chester ever did, like she was trying to prove something... and she did not pull it off. There have been vocal analysis performed to isolate her voice. It was REALLY bad. She literally sounds like someone just screaming. Not singing-screaming... just screaming. There is zero emotion in her voice when she is doing this, as well. Again, maybe it is just nerves. She at least needs the benefit of building some comfort in this position. I hope she eases into this and those authentic aspects of Linkin Park return. And none of this is addressing the controversies... and how the timeline lines up with Rob "stepping away". And then we were led to believe Brad just wasn't performing in the most important show since the tribute concert. Then they tell us, Brad is "studio only". And how Mike was talking about needing to feel like they have a good person, because they have to tour together. Why can't Brad tour? Is it because he isn't feeling that? Also, their "World Tour"? Six shows. Either it is to take it easy getting back into it... or it is to see if this is going to work, or whether they are trying something and then just pack it in.

How about giving her more than one show before you pull her apart with every negative point you can come up with hey? I'm seeing people say she's been getting better and better in the shows they've been doing, which is great. She's also not perfect and isn't going to nail it %100 of the time, like Chester didn't always.

@@chicken-wuss How about check reality. She is a bad human. EDIT: Oh, yeah... and I forgot... learn to read. I was giving her some credit based on likely having serious nerves and this being her first public show in the band. But since you're on whatever fuel you're on (nostalgia, DEI-over positivity, you're a scientologist... you pick), you're looking to cut corners.

with all the respect to Mike this new vocalist sounds not good enough for this level of band. it's just my opinion. I wish them well but I'm not into it

I dunno it seems like no one here will criticise them and say it so i will: they won’t have the same connection which will effect song and lyric quality which has already been seen in emptiness machine, bring on the hate 😂

Shes human. Her voice will crack. Her cult is none of my business. Her backing of Masterson was weird, but people can change. End of the day I love this re invention. She's talented and a great fit. idolize the art✌️The world still listens to Michael Jackson and he was a pedo. If you are here for the music then you will pay attention to the music. More power to Emily and Linkin Park. ❤

As long as her "cult" doesnt have anything to do with band decisions then ok cool. But i dont see that happening.

@@apocdeathtoall3996 why would they have anything to say about the band. Thats the most tinfoil ting ive heard in ages. Would be the other way around. Scientology loves celebs that favor them because then they can steal more money of people selling useless audits.
