@Kiki That's an insane thing to say. Even if you don't enjoy his music, you can't deny all that he's accomplished. He went from nothing to a billionaire using his musical talent to create a solid foundation. That single fact alone makes him anything but overrated. He really is one of the greatest to ever step into the rap industry. You will always have your hardcore diehard fans that may push it too far and blow things over the top, but every popular person/group has them. Just ignore them as they are not as numerous as they seem.

I remember seeing the Numb/Encore video for the first time. I had no idea they were doing anything like this, and I'd just seen them live the year before and they did It's Going Down as part of the set and it was incredible, and then this was on MTV in the background one day and I was like "hang on, that's LP.. but different?" I went and sat on the arm of the sofa to watch it and just cried, and I'm not a moved to tears kind of person at all. This and Reanimation were both such innovative albums. Really talented group of lads, and a genuine shame about Chester passing. He was a voice of a generation and is sorely missed, as is the band.

@@tommybailey-pl9or Welll, who's "bigger" is a matter of perspective. I mean, Jay-Z is a great rapper, but let's look at it for what it is -- Jay-Z says rhymes over electronically made beats and samples, mostly rapping about the usual rap stuff. Lincoln Park is a group of guys who come together with musical instruments and actually produce music with lyrics that are incredibly meaningful to many people. Lincoln Park are huge, too.
@driftythekid
@driftythekid Жыл бұрын
@@franka2743 this is literally a 14 year olds perspective of music, its immature and narrow minded, and frankly stupid. Jay-Z as most artists do, has a lot of variance in his music and a lot of talent in making said music. I don't even particularly like his music, but your breakdown of what Jay does shows you have no understanding of how music is made, what skills it takes to make it, and the dynamic of this room. Jay-Z at this point was already a bona-fide legend, and Linkin park respected him for his place in music and its history. Linkin Park became legends in and of themselves, but there's room for more than 1 legend.

Jay totally not trying to brag when he said “I’m cool.. I do vocals uhh pretty fast.” Hahaha I loved it. Humble brag. I know mike said the plan was for mtv to never be able to do a second episode of the show because this mash up was too epic. They got it done because there never was an episode 2 ❤️
