I mean, I'm pretty sure they haven't played it since 2003, and with the huge catalogue of music they've made since then (including hundreds of demos we haven't heard), and fairly non-stop touring, it's not surprising they can't remember some of their older, more obscure songs. Also if Setlist.fm is to be believed, they only played that song 22 times. EDIT: Just saw your comment is over two years old. My bad dude.

@GTS That's interesting, I never knew that. Though I suppose it makes sense. I didn't know Chester wrote so much of the song, I was always under the impression that Mike did most of the writing, even though Chester did contribute. It makes sense that Chester would remember the last line, if he wrote the song though.

@@copopopocoporododoro I believe that's true. If my memory serves me correct, Mike asked Chester if he had any punk sounding song ideas/demos set aside, during the recording of The Hunting Party. He brought in the demo lyrics for War, and an outline of what he thought the song would be. The lyrics stayed mostly the same, and the rest of the song almost came together quickly as a jam between the other members. The main difference lyrically was that Chester originally wrote "1, 2, 1, 2 fuck you," instead of "1, 2, 1, 2 thank you," the rest is mostly unchanged, or came together during the jam session. The fact that the whole song came together so quickly may explain why it sounds like there's an audible filter on Chester's voice throughout the whole thing, and why his voice seems to sound...compressed. I'm no audio expert, but he does sound compressed in that song, to my ears anyway.
