I am a noob when it comes to this stuff and was about to order the hydra and the atlas 6 thinking that the hydra is the router and the atlas are the nodes when I found your channel. Thank you for clearing this up for me. 👍🏽

I bought the Hydra after your initial review. I was able to expand the network with the Velop AC13000 to cover our farthest room. The Velop only supports WPA2 and will not connect if the system is on WPA2/3 mix. Its the cheaper model and still works great just no WPA3 or WiFi6.

I have the Velop AC 5400 o r4600 I don't remember. its the wifi 5 3 pack from few years ago. are you saying we can match up these new ones with the old ones?
@RJ-eg2nx Жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris, great video, I was having issues with my 3 year old Linksys MR8300 and the nice young lady (Linksys support) recommended this model MX4200. Really appreciate your explanation of this router as I am still quite a novice about these items. So, I am leaving Wifi 5 and joining Wifi 6 and hoping for much better results.

Hey Chris, I have just seen the new Velop Pro 6E - but I have no idea where it fits in the linksys range? Is it better than the Atlas Max? I cant find any good comparison info - a comparison video would be great!

wonder if you can download and install more advanced settings into this like the good old days with the older ones ,turn a cheap router into a $600 instantly.

Very nice review of the Linksys routers. Would like to see what is included in the app for free services like controlling devices hooked to them. Lots of control is available for your kids & guests but some charge for these services.

Thanks Chris! Curious. Tri-Band, from what I’ve seen, refers to the 6Ghz channel gifted to us by WiFi 6E, but the Velop are not 6E. Does the Tri-band in the name reference the dedicated wireless backhaul that they provide?

If you have a bell hub 4000, would I need this? Or is the bell hub 4000 enough? I know my basement is where its been hard to get good speed so far with the hub 4000, would this fix it?

Can the Velop be used only as a mesh point in conjunction with a different router, such as the EA8300?

Have you used the Hydra Pro 6 with the Atlas Mesh...do you think that combination would work better than the Velop MX4200 with 3 pods?

Can you select what band you're on with these? Google WiFi sucks for this reason alone. I have certain smart home products that require 2.4ghz but I couldn't force my phone onto 2.4 to set them up.
@Shift4g2 жыл бұрын
What you want to do defeats the purpose of a mesh network. It's not a brand's WiFi system problem, it's a wrong use case unfortunately.

@@Shift4g except loads of mesh networks allow you to specifically pick 2.4 or 5ghz except Google. Google WiFi still sucks

Recommend not buying any Linksys Wifi product. My brand new WiFi 6 mesh router failed almost a year ago and Linksys refuses to replace the unit even though they admitted it is a hardware failure. I went to Eero, far better performance and support.
