Why do all these "reviews" portray things that do not matter to customers at all? Your wifi speed does not make any difference unless the connection you get from ISP to home is faster and in that case your connection is PLENTY FAST even if you have an old WIFI system. Software/firmware updates to avoid being hacked, easy to setup properly, avoidance of unsafe protocols and features and good quality hardware is what reviews SHOULD look at, but they don't. It is like these reviews are made by people who do not know what they are doing and just read out loud the marketing material.
@tivtagАй бұрын
A good review would take much more effort. Agree with you
@bizkurt99Ай бұрын
Brother, you may not believe this, but just because you are not using these speeds doesn't mean others don't, either. There is a thing called an internal network and a greater web. Just because you are not getting these speeds on the greater web, doesn't mean you won't be getting these speeds on the internal network. From the looks of it, you are not the tech hobbyist, just continue with your ISP-provided modem and live happily.
@TechTusiastАй бұрын
@@bizkurt99 There are no internal and greater web, but LAN and internet. Maybe you would like to share a common consumer use where faster than any typical wifi is required or beneficial. Every modern router supports 5GHz, many even faster than that.
@bizkurt99Ай бұрын
@@TechTusiast internal=lan & greater web=internet. They are not in the popular word list but they are still true. Currently using laptop on wifi to do all my stuff since pulling a cable is more costly to me than (money+time) just getting a router/repeater. And since all around me is full of (2.4 & 5) it, i need some difference maker like Wi-Fi 6 to get me out of their signals. Currently using TP-Link RE705X. And it is same as plugging an ethernet cable to my pc. Getting minimum 900 mbps out of 1 gig in downloads on internet (ISP provided router, locked, can't change it unfortunatly.)
@SirP00MPАй бұрын
”common consumers” should continue there day with their provided isp router and stay off tech reviews. There are other features that these routers provide. Your head would implode trying to comprehend them.

Anything from Netgear in my testing of routers for over 20 years is very bad experience. Asus going down hell with netgear as well in long term performance and stability. My usual picks for the past 8 years now is TP-Link.

I was actually thinking this. The last time I looked into routers (5 years ago), the thing you wanted to look for was Smart Queue Management. Is this still the case? Do you have any solid recommendations? Ideally I am looking to spend under $200AUD or $140ish USD. I dont mind spending more if I have to, i just want something that has decent range and good QOS cause i have like 4 ppl and heaps of random devices. I just want to game again, currently have 230mbps down and 50 up
