Wonderful, the Linn LP12, a very good cartridge that fits its excellent, high performance tonearm, is certainly a very fine, audiophile turntable. Furthermore, all the Linn turntables have precision of higher engineering, performance, and quality build; Linn LP12 is legendary. Linn, from what I am aware, has more to do with build quality, and precision, in that order. Or it can be considered Precision first, and Quality of Build as a very close second place. HOWEVER, when performance is considered with the cost, and final price, in this case a "new Selekt LP12, and Majik Ugrades", it's a wee bit expensive! I am not saying that a turntable as in that mysterious audiophile category, be a couple of hundred dollars. If it is in a Vintage category it could be a different case. And I predict there are hi fi audio people out there who believe otherwise; besides, most Vintage audio equipment has gotten more expensive. In my case I bought a used Rega Planar 3, early 1980s, mostly as a plinth, and I restored, repaired, and eventually upgraded it. Eventually I bought, and installed a Rega 24V Motor Upgrade, by myself; works wonderfully. Getting back on to the main topic, a Rega Planar 3, a used Planar 6, the newest Planar 2, or Thorens, or higher priced Dual Turntable is a better, more affordable choice. Therefore, the cartridge can be upgraded on a Planar 2 Turntable to a Bias 2, or even an Exact 2 MM; a better deal, and choice, for example. If you have the money to spend, that's fine, it's your choice. By the way, those prices in British pounds are 1.5 times more up here in Canada. As I believe it, a used Linn turntable is a more affordable option, too.🔉🎵🎶

The prices of new Linn upgrades is simply insane and not worth it for my opinion I have got a LP12 Limited Edition Klimax level but from now on I will start to downgrade

Do you use a professional to maintain it regularly? How did you find such a person? That prevents me from owning vintage, that and the fact old tables use some outdated technology / materials. I’m happy w my Planar 3 w exact 2 cart.

I use my 1984 LP12 without any “upgrades”, daily, with my Quad amps. Still sounds as good as any high end HiFi I’ve heard costing 10 times more. “Audiophiles” spending over £10k on their systems care more about their equipment than listening to music. There’s a point where it’s just becomes nonsense

I do not agree, it is entirely made in Scotland with premium materials.

@@philippebertrand3820 Its over engineered to excuse an high price, imo they could have pushed more performance for under £300 retail and still made a tidy profit.
