The LINSY HOME Rubik 3 is a modular sectional that comes in 3 color options and a number of seating options. Each piece of the sofa is designed to stand on its own or, via slots on the base, be connected together to create the right configuration for the room. It has a supportive and firm surface, created by the wooden frame and high density poly foam used in construction. Assembly can be short or fairly long depending on how many pieces were included, but the process itself is simple. The design is excellent, especially thanks to thoughtful inclusions like storage in each base. While it is basic, it accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do. Overall, the Rubik 3 is a solid choice for a sofa. It can fit just about any space with the right configuration.

Im so happy I found this review! I am debating the Linsy Rubik III for my small NYC apt, precisely bc of the modular feature and the STORAGE which to me is one of the best things about it lol. But your comment that it's firm gives me pause. I don't mind some firmness, esp if that means the cushions might last a little longer without caving in too much. But is it rocker hard? I don't need a plush cushion, and actually prefer not feeling like I am collapsing into the sofa. But I still want it to be comfy - did you still feel comfortable? Was it curl-upable? The 3 seater with ottoman option is appealing to me, as an easier way to do a sectional. Thanks!

It's not rock hard, but it's definitely not plush either. It leans more in the firm direction than it does in the direction of soft. I still found it comfortable...though having some plusher pillows really goes a long way.

How would you say Linsy compares to the Allform modular sofa (or other modular sofas you're aware of)? I'm on the fence about buying the Linsy, but am still considering other options.

Allform feels higher quality and better constructed, though it's also more expensive. Both are comfortable and look good. So I think it's really just a matter of budget and value vs. quality and higher price.

Thank you for your review. How do the armrests feel? Can you feel the frame on the armrest, or is there a good amount of padding? I am bouncing back and forth between this sofa and the Home Reserve Deep Seat. Do you know anything about that brand?

They are fairly firm, very supportive, not plush. The level of padding is pretty minimal and you can feel the frame. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Home Reserve.

Do you know what the dimension is from the back cushion to the front of the sofa? Website says 27.5" but it looks like that includes the back cushion width.

Do you know if the material on the Linsy Rubik 3 sofa is scratch proof for dogs and can be cleaned by wiping it down?

It's a fairly durable feeling fabric, but I don't think it's rated "scratch proof". I don't think it would be especially easily cleaned.

I like this review since I am thinking about getting the RUBIK I 4 seat 3 ottoman. I guess I am curious about dog hair and how well it is to clean? Also theoretically couldn’t you just put 2 inch memory foam inside the cushion if it was to firm?

I found it super easy to clean. Just run a vacuum over it every so often. And sure "theoretically" you could replace the cushions with memory foam, but I would guess that would be a huge project. If you're planning on buying a new sofa and immediately replacing the cushions why not just buy a different sofa?

@@ModernCastle it’s hard to find storage sofas and the colors are nice. I like how clean it looks. I am saying you could just apply cushion pillows to sit on or add memory foam in the already existing cushions.

I see the Rubik 3 claims to be rated for 1,000 pounds per seat. Did you happen to test this or test how sturdy the storage cover is that the cushion sits on?

That's something we tested, unfortunately. 1,000 pounds per seat does feel a bit extreme though. I would feel confident up to 500 per seat.

The one thing I keep seeing on these that bugs me is no corner piece. Could you remove the arm piece and put another back piece (so 2 back pieces) on one seat? I also didn’t like that on their website you can’t just get an extra back piece if one broke.

Probably safer to buy it from Amazon than directly from LINSY. I agree, my experiences with the in-house team have been bad as well.

No way for a vacuum to get under. Doesn't look comfortable at all and it's a very strange idea as once you have it set it up most people aren't going to change its layout.

It's definitely a firmer sofa, but definitely more comfortable than it looks. You're right regarding vacuuming. Vacuuming under would be impossible. Overall, I do think the modular sofa concept is an interesting one. You're right, it's not something you change often, but at least in my living room I've changed it several times since we moved in (with different modular sofas) and it's been nice to have the flexibility when we need it.

@@ModernCastle For myself this modular sofa is too much of a compromise. If they made it so the firmness could be adjusted by putting in or taking out layers of cushioning it would be better. Then the storage area could be used to store the unwanted cushioning material. I don't think doing that would make the price change.

You do have a point about a vacuum not being able to get under it. But I think that the pieces are light enough that you can move them around so you can vacuum under them. Also, I think you're able to change the legs to give you more heights.
