what !!!! ive loved this song ( and equally the video ) for nearly 20 years. back at that time i did watch TOTP very regularly too. I'd assume she was used to doing the dance routine not holding a microphone but was told she had to hold it even though she's lip syncing (the BBC were weird like that at times) so she's trying to still do the moves but having to keep the microphone to her mouth.
