Honestly, it suits him. I sometimes view him as an old Linkin Park member who settled down; I realise he's a geek and eccentric in some mild ways, but he's also a successful entrepreneur and a loved husband, so it clearly balances out well enough to make him pull off the "some aspects of my look have a 90-esque edginess" charisma. And he probably knows all that, and doesn't care about those who fail to realise - he's an adult. But the real reason I am responding here is because I think the people who make fun of the 80s and 90s these days would actually be surprised to take a closer look into what inspired those times. When people did what people now view as "edgelord attempts at coming off as cool" back then, it wasn't that at all; the 60s and 70s had just passed, and people were tired of every lifestyle choice being linked to a political statement, and every event having to be crammed full with philosophical perspective on ethics, because it removed the possibility of trying out things simply out of curiosity, and the desire to do extreme things, even if they are a little stupid. In a way, they behaved very much like the anti-academia movements in today's populist agendas. Sure, at the limitless extent to which that stance drove way too many ecstasy-infused parties and no-worries Barbie pop queens, it still warrants being made fun of. But summarising the general idea behind the period as doing everything *trying to look cool* is blatantly ill-informed; pretty much the opposite of what was going on. And that people now *think* they looked like people trying to look cool says a lot about what people's rolemodels are today.

As someone new to the tech space, I love your content. It helps me learn, promote products to customers, and troubleshoot. It has been great watching you grow. You took risk and time. The amount of work that goes into each video is evident. You brought on employees that appear to enjoy their work which helps the economy, and all of y’all to be successful. You may already be doing some of these things, but If I could give any advice, grow bigger and grow faster by capitalizing on everything. But, without abandoning you and your company’s core beliefs and culture. For example, make more on the trade shows, events, and conferences you currently appear at. And, with the right videographer, (maybe an entirely different one with a different background and style) start another channel utilizing the exact same content already recorded with a different look and feel. Idk. Just an idea/ example, and you might already be doing those, but my point is “how big do you want to be?”

I just want to say.... Im a mid 40's bloke, I have a CS Degree, and worked in IT for a very long time (I remember the internet without browsers), although sadly I don't now. My 7 years old has been watching these videos for years, and has learned so so much about computers and software from this channel. I think its brilliant and Linus is a fantastic presenter of this stuff. Haters are a tragically sad bunch, and never to be taken seriously. Thanks Linus and crew, you all to a wonderful job.
