Popular KZbinr Linus, from Linus Tech Tips, was looking for a truly wireless keyboard. Powercast took a keyboard and mouse and retrofit them with our technology ( RF transmitter and receiver chips) to make a true wirelessly powered keyboard and mouse. Please watch this video to see why we created this device: • Your Wireless Keyboard...
Our solution was much simpler and easier to implement than the Qi solution Linus was trying to create. There are a few reasons why using RF wireless power is the best option for wireless keyboards and other low-power devices.
1) - Inexpensive components. Only a few dollars to have a transmitter and receiver chip.
2) - Freedom of Placement. You can move the keyboard almost anywhere you want on top of the desk.
3) - One to Many. With only one transmitter you can charge many individual devices that have the receiver chip in them.
Ubiquity Transmitter specs:- FCC approved 1W (3W EIRP) 915 MHz transmitter- 5V plug and low energy costs ($3-$4 per year)

Super cool tech that would be 10x easier then what ltt was doing!!! Would there ever be a kit or something for people to add this functionality to there existing keyboard and mice?

Interesting idea, obviously it worked quite well with this keyboard, but we need to grab some more power-hungry keyboards (RGB) and see the power draw and construction of them before we make anything like that. However, because the keyboard is in the same place and orientation for most of its life, we expect this to be a viable market for wireless power for sure. We are going to use this video to highlight the feasibility of RF wireless power in these types of peripherals.

quite impressive, can't wait for phones to have these chips too, its barely enough to charge it but you could get a few extra minutes of usage though

Maybe you can make a usb c adapter so there is no need to modify the keyboard.

Great work guys! Just a thought: There could be a feedback mechanism to turn off the transmitter once the receivers are near 100% charge. Also I am curious, why did you have to "latch" the keyboard by taking it near the transmitter when it was batteryless?

Great suggestion, also, probably the wrong term, I just needed to get close enough to initially start the Bluetooth between the keyboard and computer, then you could move it back a few more inches.

@@Powercastco oh that's neet! What frequency channel does it use? + What's the efficiency percentage of the electric transfer rate at the distance from the keyboard to the transmitter? (best case scenario 15cm from the transmitter to the keyboard)

Is this something we can accomplish on the consumer level with your current items for sale? That is, could I purchase everything required from you all and DIY my own? I use a wireless Niz Plum X87 keyboard that's perfect for me in every way but needing a cable to charge it. Since I have to have a cable available to charge anyway, I've just ended up leaving it hardwired at all times. But this seems like the perfect solution to create my endgame keyboard.

How power efficient is this technology? Is it better than coil based Qi charger ?
@Powercastco
@Powercastco Жыл бұрын
It is different tech. We can reach distances of over 100 feet, however, every time we double the distance we 1/4 the received power. Of the power that gets to our antenna, our chip converts about 80% of that into usable DC power.

Send a kit to LTT for construcvit critisysm 🤔 also considering where you made the announcement i am surprised nobody has asked for a sample kir 🤔 also check how power efficient it is compared to Qi charging because it has isnane losses yours might be better.

Nice video but I would have liked to have seen how it was installed. Not why. I understand the why. I want to see the how. Please. I would like to see a product that I can plug in to an existing product like my phone does not come with wireless charging. But I was able to buy a wireless charging it fits between my phone case and my phone. And now I'm able to wirelessly charge my phone. I'm sure you'll get there soon. Or maybe something that I could plug into USB and my TV and be able to power everything like that. Instead of having to buy a TV new that has that. I'd love it if my smartwatch could charge like this that alone is worth it

Good point, with the cost of the transmitter electronics down to $5, we think there will be a lot more appliances that will also be RF Transmitters.
