Have you found any pactor stations yet to chat with? I have a PTC-II, and when I first bought it Pactor 1 and 2 was very popular, now it is hard to find someone! Is Pactor 4 legal in U.S.A.? I don't see why not if it only takes up 2.4kHz bandwidth!

Yes individuals can be reached but this is a rare thing. Pactor 4 is legal in Canada and Mexico. I. The United States, a symbol limit applies so levels up to Pactor 3 are legal.

Hello! Thanks for the content you provide, it has been a great help! I just purchased this exact model from SCS. I’m new to using Pactor Modems over HF. If you wouldn’t mind answering 2 questions for me I would appreciate it! 1. Which Drivers did you install? I’m running a Yaesu FT-891 and a Windows 10 Laptop. I’m not exactly sure which Drivers to select? 2. Is there a way to keep the Signalink connected at the same time, even thought it’s not used with the Pactor modem? Thanks for your time!

The SCS site has the USB drivers for your Window system. I am using Bluetooth, so no drivers were installed from my end. You can look on my website for a method to connect the SCS Modem and a Signalink soundcard. greyscale.zone/scs-pactorsignalink-switch-box.html

It is a MFJ 1788 (15-40 meter band). It can take a lot of power. I would avoid any contact with it any time it is transmitting.

Node Systems Ltd I have seen evidence to show that they’re very similar except pactor does an amazing job with noise and low signal to noise ratio’s.

Yes, I purchased a hockey puck style GPS. It is simple to use and the acquisition time is incredibly fast.
