LTT should do a new series called, "Battlestation Duels". Two LTT employees are randomly chosen to compete with each other to create the best battlestation room setup in their homes. They are each given the same amount of money and a specific amount of time to finish their room setup. Linus and two other judges get to nitpick and critique their setups and the new room decor that complements their battlestations. The winner is chosen by the LTT audience. The player with the most votes gets to keep their battlestation. The loser has to tear theirs down and gets nothing.

@cadon_slayer4285 Not even close. No one said buying used or 2nd hand. There's audience voting instead of just testing mostly. It's mainly based on quality for the amount of money given, who knows how much. They need either time OR money though. And this is one of those times where LTT could make use of companies that do short-term contracts between LTT and volunteer workers they vet (the company does all the finance, tax, contract writing, etc. to your specifications), and have a dedicated employee for that, or people who can cover for whoever is working with the external programs (technically this is more of a CEO thing I guess, though I don't know what his workload is like otherwise) and have outside contestants if they don't want to be limited by the workloads current employees have. Otherwise, you get a lot of these things being very hasty and having major 'what even was the point?', in this case, they'd barely get together monitors and PCs, when the vision is for an ENTIRE themed setup for gaming that someone would have in their room and show off, not 'look at my PC I cobbled together from third world e-waste'. 😅

For the longest time I would have agreed but having switched to a single monitor setup for a while now I can definitely see the appeal for some people. I'll probably go back to a dual setup again when I can as I like the extra flexibility. Given the choice between a single really good monitor and two okay but not as good monitors I'd take the single monitor. The roasting of people who choose to use a single monitor is IMO a lack of understanding.

Since switching to a dual monitor arm with a single monitor and my laptop next to it I've actually noticed that I've started using the second monitor much less. 14:17 back in college, I used a big ass box for a coffee table. My tv was too big to fit the little “side table” type thing we had, so I used the box the tv came in to make the table top “bigger”. Worked great. Needless to say, “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it”. We kept our box coffee table and tv box table top for over a year.

Yo monitor lamps are pretty sick. 1. Have a deep desk. 2. Have a massive monitor >32". 3. You can turn of the lamp when you are gaming. 4. You can use the desk as a work space with non-eyestraining lighting.

27:02 i miss LANs so much man, everyone i use to game with as a child went their separate ways in life. I think i'm the only one that never had kids, making me the one who can afford decent computers. I still kinda lug mine around but i'm disabled and my pc weighs about 50-60 lbs without the glass lol. the last REAL lan we had was when Destiny 2 originally launched and we all camped out in my cousins living room with our playstations, drinking liqour, leveling up our fireteams and the day the leviathan raid launched it was some of the most fun I have had in recent memory. We sort of did the same thing for borderlands 3 but it was over discord and it just didn't have the same vibe. I would do a SFF build if LANs came back in popularity in my area; i don't know how i would fit a 7900xtx in a SFF case but i'm sure i could figure something out hahaha [

Pro tip for portable setups: Get yourself a folding desk from home depot. It folds the sides in, and the top down, but it's large enough that I can comfortably fit a tournament-size keyboard, a mouse, and a dual monitor stand on it.

At 4:36 I sent a DM to this person wondering if it was ai generated, and they admitted it was, however originally they said it was their husband who was a 'passionate photgrapher' and they were interested in setups and this person tried to convince me that it was real and shot on a Nikon Z6 with a 24-120mm lens, however I then got them to admit it was ai generated after showing a lot of suspicion
@DaRealMaus2 ай бұрын
I’m pretty sure they just said it to shut you up, there’s just no way this is AI generated - the phone is an actual phone with a perfect logo, ai usually messes this up - there’s this nice imperfect stitchline on the deskpad, ai would make that look more perfect - the text behind the monitor is an actual readable thing, ai messes this up so easily - all shadowing and lighting is correct - the aio watercooler on the cpu is not only VERY new, but also very special. It allows for these cool 3d effects, which you can see displayed here too. No way ai generated that correctly. Also notice the text on it is readable and makes sense - all icons in the windows dock look correct.
@DaRealMaus2 ай бұрын
Also, just look at his other posts. There’s no way ai generates a perfect replication from another angle. A render, i would understand, but definitely not ai

it is still so freaking stupid. You want light on your desk? why not get a normal light like anyone else which DOESN'T make the screen look horrible? Shining brightnlight at a very low angle onto your matt screen is just a horrible idea
@swayingGrass2 ай бұрын
@@MHWGamer I dont know where the idea started, but from what i know, Originally the purpose of monitor lights is to have a dark room and light that ONLY shines on the Desk. Its called monitor lamp because its a lamp mounted on a monitor, not because its supposed to shine on one. Why not just use a normal desk lamp? Well that I dont know.

@@MrJakson112 A normal desk lamp takes up desk space and spills light onto the monitor. Good light bars don't shine light directly onto the monitor.

I'm actually really proud of my setup. I am lucky enough to have friends who have updated their computers in ways that I have been able to Frankenstein together their old PC parts and items, in order to make my perfect jank. I have a 4 monitor setup (2 from different friends, 1 from a high school computer lab, and 1 TV from an 18 wheeler cabin), decent PC performance, an HDMI switcher and USB switcher so that my work laptop can be multi monitor, and a really nice large desk from when my friend moved and couldn't take it with him. I accumulated peripherals over the years by asking for specific things as Christmas presents like a scarlet solo microphone, fostex T50RP headphones, and an XRocker chair with RGB from Canadian Tire (the whole setup isn't RGB. I just thought it would be funny, and I liked my old XRocker floor chair from my childhood). All I've bought for the setup was the deskmat (a DND playmat from EB Games), a Logitech C920 webcam, a streamdeck+, a new SSD when my old one kicked the bucket, and the cables/adapters to get it all running. It may not be the most elegant battle station that's ever been seen, but it's built from the kindness of people I care about and my determination to bring the monster to life. And I think it's beautiful.

Until I had to due to the results of a severe concussion and the need to upgrade to a modern display without the flicker. I went from 2x 21” to one 27” extra wide. Making it work pretty much as good as the double monitors.
