I'm a mechanical engineer working in product development and industrial solutions and this video is simply awesome. @@syrupybrandy2788 Depends . . . are your tools how that tuition gets paid? How the mortgage is made? What puts food on the table? _Workers_ may use the company tools, or own their own. _Craftsmen_ have the set they use for everyday jobs, and a set they use for labors of love -- the stuff they come up with to remind them of why they do the job they do -- because employers won't pay them to take the time to take the care to demonstrate their real skills. Haven't you ever wondered why you can't find a square corner in a new house? Why any decent inspection will come up with a twenty page punch list on any commercial construction? 1/3 of the price of a newly-constructed house is construction, at most. 1/3 (to 80%, in some regions) is permits, and 1/3 is financing of the construction -- the profit the bank that fronted construction costs makes, when the new home sells. I know that from the inside, those figures are beyond dispute. Are you one of those who thinks labor is inferior, not human, and has no cause for pride? Then, you are exactly why a laborer becomes a craftsman, and accumulates the best tools he can find as his own. I may swing a hammer, but it's an Estwing.

@@kadupse Framework laptops are more expensive simply because they're a very small company (compared to Asus, Dell, Lenovo...) and they cannot have interesting contracts for a lot of parts like Intel/AMD CPUs, Qualcomm modems, HDMI licences, and a lot of other parts... If framework is asking for a lower price the part manufacturer can simply say no, it's not a big loss for them. If Asus or Dell is asking they will certainly have a lower price because of the big pressure they have. I have a 75 year old neighbour that I admire greatly for his creativity and sheer craft making abilities (as an engineer myself) who is just like Sebastian. Ozy was an art lecturer (who has been credited by some very high up Hollywood animated film producers for teaching and mentoring them) but secretly also an engineer and inventor. His house is utterly stunning and workshop a thing of beauty with laves, pillar drills, welders and tools impeccably arranged in the most logical way I could deem possible. Sebastian gives me his vibes and to say that is a huge compliment. Keep this guy in your business for as long as you can Linus!

I need a couple hundred for a replacement UPS at this point and yeah its going to take some time to get that cash around for a purchase like that on only $900 or so a month when rent is $500-$600 a month for me and the rest of the money goes towards things like FOOD for the rest of the month
