Linux Lite 7 RC1 has been announced and I wanted to take it for a test ride.
All in all, really cool, simple, fast.

I still find it funny when Linux ppl call it easy to install Firefox, when you search for it, you get 100 hits, and it's the 8 selection on a list of utter gibberish for non-technical folks... You wonder why Linux Desktop still isn't popular to this day. Thats one of them.

I hear you. There is a bit of fragmentation on Linux-based operating systems. A lot of choice does create some confusion sometimes.

Alright. I came into this wondering what on Earth is Linux Lite. It uses XFCE. That's all I need to know. That instantly makes Debian, Arch, or Fedora all better options. And making XFCE look like Windows? 🤮 Call me old fashioned, but I like my XFCE to look like XFCE.

You can run "some" windows apps if you're using WINE in Linux, but I wouldn't say it's super easy or reliable. Great question, by the way.
