Tux Plasma 6.0 is cool, but has some bugs. DISCOVER app store always crashes and there are times when the sudo apt-get install [package name] is successfully completed but does not appear in the desktop app menu. The windows control button occasionally transfers from the upper left to the upper right of the app window.

I spent the last 2 days trying to get arch/KDE to act the way I want it. It's probably my fault but I had so many display/audio/bluetooth/nvidia issues I finally gave up, wiped the drive and installed Pop OS. It's been 45 minutes and my computer is doing all the normal things I want to do. There are some things I don't like about pop but as long as it works and stays out of my way I'll keep it.

Is it normal to have abnormally large video size? I recorded a 1440P clip that's like 30 ish minutes and it's like 100-1900 gb for that video alone. Am I tripping or is the 1440p costing thr video size?

I have enjoyed this far more than Fedora 40. Everything just works. The only think I couldn't get working was Cisco Anyconnect. On Fedora 40 with Wayland/gnome I had apps that would fail to launch unless I logged out and logged back in, everything just works and I run a lot of different apps.

Would you recommend Nobara to someone who only had about a month of linux experience?

One time a savior for my brand new gaming laptop, i now left it behind as the drawbacks of Fedora are now more prominent for my usage (over reliance on flatpacks, many packages are outdated in the offical repos, the kernel updates handling etc...). I really appreciate Nobara's contribution at providing a really good gaming baseline, no argument there, it is the best on offer but Arch has catch up in my use case and is so much more pratical for me.

Can you test playing elden ring? I used nobara 39 for a while but was dissatisfied because of frequent crashes while playing elden ring.

On my system Garuda had a lot of issues at start (exemple: couldn't update). I had to make a "sudo garuda-update remote" to reset all keys and repositories before I could update the OS.

If it means anything to anyone reading the comment section and are mesmerized by the look and feel of the deepin, the desktop environment is (still) officially supported by SUSE and RedHat, so you can install the latest release (which should be 6.0.52 as of me writing this) on Tumbleweed (factory or rolling release) or Fedora Workstation and not be bound to Deepin OS. Mind you, there may still be calls to Chinese servers necessary for certain functions and APIs to work as intended, meaning you might miss some functionalities if you block outbound communications to Chinese servers or not whitelist Deepin-specific domains, so, keep that in mind. While there irrefutably exist racial and national bias towards China and anything CCP-related among the Westerners, especially the English speaking audience which happens to form the majority of FOSS and Linux kernel development, Deepin and its parent company almost assuredly does have ties to the CCP and some of those worries and concerns are valid and warranted. Deepin is open-source, but the developers have poor communication and the corporation behind it, 'Deepin Technologies' treats their platform like source-available and ignore outside voices - or voices outside China, that is. The question you need to ask as an end-user of any product of dubious origins or with sinister intent; to what extend are they inclined to do any *evil* or act with malicious intent and how much do they stand to gain and lose by doing so?
