I am new to arch linux, got everything working but having this issue after installing nvidia drivers.I have a Rtx 3070, r9 5900x, and 32gb ddr4 ram. I am stuck at 3:56 since it just gives an error saying that it cannot write to boot. (I did install dracut)

I installed your patch for an old Navidia driver - The screen went blank after successful installation . Then everything froze when I would login. So I thought it's hacked. :) It took me 3 days to get back to the original - no driver installed. I would try it again after finishing my work. A week of exploration because I know ...a bit now.

Hello, could you help me? I installed the nvidia drivers and the nvidia cuda toolkit via the apt command and blacklisted the nouveau driver but it will just show a screen with a blinking curser and sgx disabled by bios (after a while the blinking stops) unless i repeatedly press ctrl alt and a bunch of fkeys really fast or boot into recovery mode, then it works, thanks. Distro:kali linux

I tried rebuilding my initramfs file and I still have the same problem. Funnily enough when I try to log on with X11 my external monitor works fine and loads KDE Plasma correctly but my laptop screen goes black. And the opposite happens when i try to load with KDE Plasma Wayland. Please tell me if you have a fix for this.

This is howto NVIDIA Optimus devices works with Linux + NVIDIA drivers. You can run CUDA apps and external monitors, but your laptop panel is not working. I warn about this on my own guides before installation. you should display the commands in bigger fonts, it's very hard to see, you say "run blah command" but you don't explain it properly and it's very hard to read the full command. it could help if you copied and pasted the text in the description or comments or something.

I just type my root password here. You can of course login using your normal user (username and password) and then change to root user using 'sudo -i' command.

You are funny. How to make anything without the console. After installing nobara for example, the nvidia version. I got only black screen. Really black screen, without console!

Boot to runlevel 3 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHzHgaludsaGZqs), then you have a console? Btw. You can always try to change virtual console pressing ALT+F# or CTRL+ALT+F# and you get console. One important thing is of course think why you see black screen if you install some distribution with NVIDIA drivers build in. Do you have just desktop/server with NVIDIA card or laptop with NVIDIA Optimus? Do you have right version of drivers? Also your UEFI/BIOS settings might cause this, like secure boot enabled and your driver modules are not signed etc.

This sounds like you're running wrong/too new version of NVIDIA drivers. What graphics card you're using?

Only 470.141.03 and 390.154 are supported drivers. That's why 515.xx fail. Download NVIDIA 470 and boot runlevel 3, run installer and try to boot again.
