I have problem with portability. it works on first computer, on second i get GRUB command window. Same issue when i create the external ssd with my other computer, grub window appear on the first computer. Partitions are Home, Root and Swap

Guys firs of all check if your bitlocker is on because after that try your hard drive will be blocked !!!

Created a new Ubuntu Live USB Image, then I attempted to install Ubuntu onto an external SSD. Every method I tried failed. Every prompt window would randomly close. Ever run into this problem?

I attempted to install Ubuntu as you described. It did not show me the screen to choose where to install Ubuntu. It never displays the screen after interactive installation. I proceed and it shows summary of what it will do and automatically selects sda (internal windows drive). So I cancelled it. How do I select external ssd drive?

it is possible that the system is unable to detect your ssd, try adjusting the cable, or go to windows and check if its able to view the ssd

@@JustWibi Answer: Yes Issues that can happen: Depending on the laptop you use, the boot might be a bit hard to figure out. I was using a Dell XPS 15 and a Lenovo Yoga. Dell XPS 15 was the one where it was installed and worked without issues. For Lenovo Yoga, it accidentally triggered this BitLocker thing Windows which was a pain to deal with. Had to change the order on what to boot first and play around for a bit. I only recommend doing this after you made sure that both laptops have backups. The boot thing is something that does not have a universal solution, you just have to do some googling for your specific laptop. But if you manage to pass that, then it works wihout issues. You can then you just boot into Linux on two different laptops. Tho, the behaviour of what happens when you unplug the external drive while laptop is running can be dangerous.
