The first time i saw my husband i was 16 and had gone to skating rink with a friend to see how he danced in skates melted me all the way to the core 35 years later it still does saddly i cant skate

wish we had music like that in the 60s I skated the last time in the middle 90s so I bought some skates and practice in my garage, Im in mexico no skating where Im at but I have a lot of fun watching those cool people skating on U tube, and speakers up full, I think a 75 pale face just would be abel to do all those manouvers in that rink, first time Im feeling old

Man I just watched United Skates (HBO) and decided to check KZbin for skate videos. With all of the BS going on now, I didnt know that our people still hit the rinks. I grew up in Jacksonville, FL and skating was big there in the late 70's and 80's. It started falling off when the more "hood ish" started poppin. Back then we had Skate City which was Black owned. It shut down in the early 90's but at the end of last year a group got together and re-opened it in a new location. Anyway, I really appreciate the videos and the love they show. Keep up the excellent work.

Not only do they rock but the really know how to roll. I miss roller skating. Tuti from the facts of life was my roller skating inspiration I learned how to walk up and down steps in roller skates because of her. I miss this all our roller rinks are closed.

thought I could skate like I was still 16. Fell and severely bruised my tailbone. got pads. then felland knocked myself TF out. slight concussion. Back out there a month or so later with a good helmet. Did I mention I'm 72 love to skate backwards pretty fast? but these young cats, OMG, they can SKATE!! Very motivating to keep practicing.

Practice, practice, and practice some more. I started again about a year and a half ago after a 20 year layoff. It was rough but I got back on it and I can now do a lot of the moves shown in this video. Just be patient and persistent.

@AW... its true what everyone has shared with you! Falling is part of skating... if you continue to practice and just be in the atmosphere; I guarantee, you will pick it up!! Just go! Hardest part is starting... then go on a off day with the kids to practice... I promise, you'll get it... everyone you see in this video did not start there!! They just put in the time to practice...
