I just want to jump on with the Belisarius talk starting @45:20. Belisarius is most famously called "The Last Roman" for his accomplishments under Justinian of the Eastern Roman Empire (not considered Byzantine yet because they were still speaking Latin), which included the conquest of the Vandal Kingdom in North Africa and Sicily, the conquest of the Gothic Kingdom of Italy, an expedition to Eastern Spain, and a multi-decade war with the invading Lombards in Italy after his conquest, leaving a stretch of land from Rome to Ravenna under Eastern Roman control for the next century, and Sicily under Roman (later Byzantine) rule for a little over 2 centuries.
