Aww poor Bongani … what a rough ride he’s had with FIP and now his leg. And Gandolph with AS… still super handsome for 17 and 18 year old lions . And marvellous Meg of course! I’m So happy they all have you Kevin and your team along with Dr Caldwell to take extra Fantastic care of them. I feel for Bongani. I've had arthritis in my hind quarters too!! I've had seven hip replacements/revisions in four years!! It's no fun when it hurts just to move in bed. Dr Caldwell is just the man to help Bogani with his pain and weakness. The price we pay for living a long and full life. Yay for Gandi!!!! Pretty much a clean bill of health. Love that!! Last but certainly not least, Meggie!!! Hey, even us older gals like a pedicure to make us feel pretty. What a wonderful AND beautiful cat!! The lions are in exceptional condition, especially considering their age. It's testimony to the love and care they've received their entire lives. Kevin has treated them like they are his children. One of the biggest factors is their mental stimulation and emotional health, which Kevin tends to beautifully. The lions hyenas, and leopards at the sanctuary receive the best care, and it shows!💕🦁💕 I'm glad they're all doing well.👍🏻😊

I love how you know each of the animals in your care and notice when intervention is needed for them. We often wonder if the vitamin supplements made a difference. So happy that it looks like the vitamin A did help in this case. 😊 It was such a surprise to find out that lion's claws can get ingrown like that into their pads. That had to be uncomfortable for Meg. I'm sure after her trim she was a much happier lion thanks to you and Dr. Caldwell, and let's not forget about vet assistance Georgie! 🤗🧡🙏

Part of having a sanctuary is also to see lions to become old, even very old to the point they start to develop illnesses… but hey, in the wild, some of those lions would have died already by fighting another younger lions that would take over their territory. So in the end, even if it’s sad to see them with “aging diseases”, they still have a very good life with Kev

I despise captivity (zoos more than anything) , but unfortunately it’s necessary. All captive animals belong in sanctuaries or rehabilitation centers on their native lands(like in the video) and nowhere else. Zoo’s continue to breed captive animals just for show. What’s the point of breeding if they don’t get an opportunity for rehabilitation? This is what the Aspinall foundation does for gorillas and other animals.

Poor Meg! That one nail had to be painful to walk on! Great news about Gandalf and his vitamin A progress. And I hope the new meds on board Bongani help. It's tough watching the older generation slow a bit, but don't we all slow our stride and need a bit more care as we move up in years? Was so glad that Dr. Peter's visit didn't have catastrophic results. I find it sadly ironic that we worry as much about our aging animals as we do when they're babies because we know sadness awaits. Bongani truly is a warrior. He has overcome some pretty major issues in his life, yet remains a sweet boy. Praying the supplements ease his pain and allows him to be comfortable. It was a surprise seeing Suja jumping in the vehicle with Bongani, as we've seen how leery he is when loading. I wonder, was that his way of watching over his buddy? Happy that darling Meg just needed a manicure! Thank you for taking such wonderful care of these precious animals. You are doing God's work.

The lions are so lucky to be taken care of their health issues. They’re so beautiful. I use to have reoccurring dreams about lions trying to break into my house and eat me until I started watching your videos. I haven’t had any dreams like that and I admire the beautiful creatures that God gave us. Kevin you are an angel and all your helpers. 💕💕
