This video is a time-lapse and review of the Michigan Mushroom Company's grow kit. Not gonna lie, these mushrooms are delicious and make an excellent meat substitute! They are also well known for their neurological benefits. I would highly recommend that everyone try these mushrooms and as you can see, Michigan Mushroom Company is a reliable brand.

They are delicious!!! My 2nd favorite mushroom that I've tried (so far) right after Porcini. If you're looking for a good recipe idea, check out my lion's mane mushroom recipe video, it's my personal go-to!

The first flush definitely looked like a califlower! I ended up getting 5 harvests total out if this fruiting block, and the rest looked more like a normal lion's mane.

guys, I'm growing my first mushroom. My knowledge on the topic is limited but... I'm thinking after I finish harvesting and the mycellium substrate is spent... can I ... 1- make some spore imprints using caps 2- mix spores with distilled water 3 - load it into a serynge for delivery mechanism 4 - put a closed plastic filled with substrate and cook away in a pressure cooker to sterilize the vermiculite. let is cool completely back to room temp 5 - inoculate the substrate with the spore syringe I made previously. 6 - hydrate and start colonizing/growing process over hence buying 1 kit to make infinit amount of kits. ill only need to buy another kit if I want another strain. as I said my knowledge is limited but I don't see any flaws in this logic . can u guys help me out? is this feasable ? also I can keep the substrate in the dark until the whole thing is colonized (white) and THEN put in our in the light (as long as it's not direct sunlight) to fruit. correct ?

I know that you definitely can get a spore print from a cap and use a pressure cooker to sterilize your substrate! My knowledge is very limited as well, but I know that you can definitely use a grow kit to make more fruiting blocks. I'd reccommend checking out Fresh Cap Mushrooms KZbin channel, they have a ton of useful information about growing mushrooms.

@@carsonwright3907 yes sir, I've actually taken a good chunk of today looking into that. I believe I have the answers. it just took me a while to find all the missing bits of info to make sense of it and feel confident enough to give it a go. thanks for your answer Carl. good man

@@carsonwright3907 yes sir, I've long been fascinated with gardening and soil biology. Been wanting to dip my toes this side of the pool for a while. sure I've known about fungi like mildew, botrytis and mycorrhizae and the simbiotic relationships in the ryzosphere with indefinous microorganisms and lactic acid bacteria. growing shrooms tho...that is a whole new ball of wax and I'm glad I started this journey now. alot of knowledge to soak up. I love learning new stuff, especially stuff I'm genuinely interested in. this will have my mind occupied for a while now 🙃 cheers

I’m curious to know if this worked for you. Are you now able to “breed” lions mane mushrooms?

How often did you mist it? Did you have to cut holes in your humidity bag?
@carsonwright3907
@carsonwright3907 4 жыл бұрын
I generally had to mist it 2-4 times per day but it is extremely dry where I live. These mushrooms prefer a very high humidity (around 85% humidity) but make sure they are not soaked or sitting in a pool of water. I did not cut holes in the grow bag but I did open the bag up several times a day and tried to leave it with a big enough opening to breathe. Mushrooms, like you and I, breathe in oxygen and out carbon dioxide, and this specific variety needs sufficient fresh air.
