Spanish is temping to learn cause I live in the US and its the language i could use the most. I wanna suprise people too lol. But i am focused on learning portuguese right now, which will make spanish easier to learn later so thats cool. Good advice on watching media. i have a disney plus profile just for dubs and i am trying to surrond myself with it as much as possible. I try to find movies i have already watched a bunch of times in my native language and i think that helps.

I think that learning Portuguese will definitely help you learn Spanish! I actually started studying Portuguese myself recently and the two languages are extremely similar. I've mostly had to use online resources to practice as there are not many native speakers in my area. I have met Brazilians a few times here and there, but I probably interact with a couple dozen native Spanish speakers during an average day at work. I hope to visit Brazil someday though! It's a beautiful language and culture as well

How do you feel now? Would you say it was worth it?

Sorry I've been really bad about posting update videos. Yes I'd say it was worth it, I'm currently about 15 months post op and I can run and jump pain free and sit or stand as long as I want with minimal pain which was damn near impossible several years ago. My number 1 advice is do the physical therapy religiously. The surgery definitely helped but anecdotally I believe the physical therapy helped more than the surgery itself. Also, the stronger you are going into the surgery, the easier the recovery will be. I recommend going to physical therapy for a few months before the surgery or if you can't afford that, strengthen your glutes and other hip muscles as much as possible before the surgery. Life has been busy lately but I will try to make another update video at some point.

Also stay on the crutches for 6 weeks, even if you feel like you can walk. I ditched the crutches after 1 week and had to go back on them around the 5 week mark because I developed bursitis. And find a reputable surgeon, a lot of people are made worse by this surgery but I saw an excellent surgeon who was very meticulous and had an excellent physical therapy protocol designed to get people back to being athletic. I live in Denver, Colorado and my surgeon was Dr. Omer Mei-Dan at the CU Sports Medicine and Performance Center in Boulder, CO. I cannot recommend him enough if you live in Colorado. Also I'm pretty sure the top surgeon for FAI/Labral Tears in the country lives in Vail, CO but I can't remember that guy's name. Overall I can say the surgery was worth it and I believe it's possible that if I didn't get the surgery, I would've needed hip replacements later in life if the damaged continued getting worse.

I think my affiliate link has expired, but if not you can buy a grow kit through the link in the videos description! The brand I used was Michigan Mushroom Company. They also sell it in organic stores like Sprouts, Natural Grocers, etc.

guys, I'm growing my first mushroom. My knowledge on the topic is limited but... I'm thinking after I finish harvesting and the mycellium substrate is spent... can I ... 1- make some spore imprints using caps 2- mix spores with distilled water 3 - load it into a serynge for delivery mechanism 4 - put a closed plastic filled with substrate and cook away in a pressure cooker to sterilize the vermiculite. let is cool completely back to room temp 5 - inoculate the substrate with the spore syringe I made previously. 6 - hydrate and start colonizing/growing process over hence buying 1 kit to make infinit amount of kits. ill only need to buy another kit if I want another strain. as I said my knowledge is limited but I don't see any flaws in this logic . can u guys help me out? is this feasable ? also I can keep the substrate in the dark until the whole thing is colonized (white) and THEN put in our in the light (as long as it's not direct sunlight) to fruit. correct ?

I know that you definitely can get a spore print from a cap and use a pressure cooker to sterilize your substrate! My knowledge is very limited as well, but I know that you can definitely use a grow kit to make more fruiting blocks. I'd reccommend checking out Fresh Cap Mushrooms KZbin channel, they have a ton of useful information about growing mushrooms.

@@carsonwright3907 yes sir, I've actually taken a good chunk of today looking into that. I believe I have the answers. it just took me a while to find all the missing bits of info to make sense of it and feel confident enough to give it a go. thanks for your answer Carl. good man

@@carsonwright3907 yes sir, I've long been fascinated with gardening and soil biology. Been wanting to dip my toes this side of the pool for a while. sure I've known about fungi like mildew, botrytis and mycorrhizae and the simbiotic relationships in the ryzosphere with indefinous microorganisms and lactic acid bacteria. growing shrooms tho...that is a whole new ball of wax and I'm glad I started this journey now. alot of knowledge to soak up. I love learning new stuff, especially stuff I'm genuinely interested in. this will have my mind occupied for a while now 🙃 cheers

The first flush definitely looked like a califlower! I ended up getting 5 harvests total out if this fruiting block, and the rest looked more like a normal lion's mane.

How often did you mist it? Did you have to cut holes in your humidity bag?
@carsonwright3907
@carsonwright3907 4 жыл бұрын
I generally had to mist it 2-4 times per day but it is extremely dry where I live. These mushrooms prefer a very high humidity (around 85% humidity) but make sure they are not soaked or sitting in a pool of water. I did not cut holes in the grow bag but I did open the bag up several times a day and tried to leave it with a big enough opening to breathe. Mushrooms, like you and I, breathe in oxygen and out carbon dioxide, and this specific variety needs sufficient fresh air.
