Your mini layout shows how smart Lego is designed. 5 bricks are as high (ignoring the studs) as 6 bricks are wide. Divided by 3, 5 plates are as high (again, ignoring the studs) as 2 bricks are wide. A brick resting sideways on the studs of the baseplate is as high as a bricks standing upright on the baseplate (you guessed it, ignoring the studs). You can tel I am a Lego Technic guy.

Road & pavement seem inconvenient for if you want stationary pedestrians or cars on your roads. You'd need to break up the streets & angled pavements & replace the bricks where you want your pedestrians & cars with parts that have studs on the side, so you can attach them to the road. The looks is quite awesome, though!

Liked the roads, especially the potholes. One thing I'd be careful of is density of stuff. A lot of builders absolutely fill their cities with masses of hugely detailed models which can look good, but don't neglect having some space!
