Stripping the old bad paint job from my recently acquired set of pre war Pullman cars to give them a much needed facelift.

Simple green is the way to go with stripping. Your idea is sticking with the flat black primer for the roof is great.

As soon as I saw that flat black roof, I knew that was the look for me!

I love the satin green with the flat black roofs. They will go very well with cream window inserts. Great job, so far!

Thanks! As soon as I saw that flat black roof, I knew that was the look for me. Still not sold on the green. I have 2 original sets that are green. I think I want a change.

Great. My wife's pre-war train has the same cars. I love what you're doing with them!

Totally agree with painting the interiors cream / off-white/ antique white. I think it would be a great compliment to burgundy, or even the green color you already painted the other 2 cars. Great job, once again!!!

Those cars are always fun to see get a new lease on life, plus since someone else had already did a crappy paint job it’s not like you’re messing anything up. Burgundy will look great on those and the flat black will look pretty prototypical.

Any Prewar that I get that has decent original paint I leave as is. These were a treat to "refresh"!

Yes, the burgundy(not dark) will go nicely with the black roof. The cream probably would look nice too. I know cream looks good with the blue pullmans! 😊

I think burgundy is the way to go too. Blue was a strong contender. I love the blue pullmans.

Great video! I think those primer colors look great together as they are. 👍

It is a great shade of green and the semi gloss finish does look good, with the flat black roof.

Great tutorial Warren! I don't own any of those cars but if I ever DO and they need a refresh your video will come in handy as a "How to." I've always assumed "If it went together it's GOT to come apart!" but you've solved the mystery of how to take them apart well! Burgundy / maroon would look nice on those cars with the flat black roofs. For contrast you could use a light gray or a buff / tan finish on the window strips. Since you only need to please yourself you've got lots of options. Thanks for posting!

Those little tabs that were holding it together are frustrating. I lost a few "key" tabs on one of the cars so I'll have to make another video on what to do if that happens. Hopefully without the use of JB weld!

@@warrenmuzakpostwarguy4331 Warren however you get it back together is fine considering the odds of it ever needing to come apart again. (Maybe?) So go ahead and be creative!

I like the flat black roof. I would probably lean toward a deep blue body myself, but maroon is good too.

If I get another set to do this with I would definitely use a deep blue!

I'm a big fan of Simple Green as well. Try to find it in a gallon jug, much cheaper.

your videos are really good. They show me as a lay. person how to do stuff. I love my trains, Lionel and Marx. Do you have any Marx?
@warrenmuzakpostwarguy43313 ай бұрын
Thank you so much. I am really trying to show folks fancy tools are not needed and how uncomplicated these trains are. I want people to feel confident and have fun and spend money on more trains not fancy unnecessary tools. All to keep the hobby alive and these amazing models on the tracks for many generations to come.

Time for some new videos dude. Your videos helped get my Lionel 2026 running. I check your page every morning for new vids. BTW, enjoyed your guitar and train video. What guitars do you play?

Thanks for watching and I am glad to hear the videos helped get your 2026 running again. Those are great runners. I don't have the resources or time to make a lot of videos, I do what with what I have. 1 video a month is what I have been able to manage. That will become less shortly too. My guitars: Gibson Dove and SG Fender Tele and Jazz Bass (mexican from the 90's) Resonator Martin DC X2E
