Nice to see you back. I hope all is well. There's nothing like the REAL prewar tinplate. So charming, colorful, and in your case properly maintained. No bearings or bushings crying out for some oil and grease.

Thanks, good to be appreciated. Feb was a tuff month for us. These oldies do struggle at times, but I do my best to keep them running.

Thanks for watching. They are all original trains from the mid to late 1920's. The 256 was Lionel's first O-gauge loco with 2 motors. The 248 is Lionel's smallest electric of the era, have to double-head to get 2 motors.

Interesting to see these things being operated 100 years after they were made

I won't say that they don't require some work to get them running and keep them running, but it is worth it in the long-run. Thanks for watching.

@@JFLionelT-RailOperator it kind of reminds me of the fact that in Iowa there is a unusual little railway with actual interurban electric freight trains from the 1920s that are still in used to this day. It’s called the Iowa traction railway and it has been given accolades by the NRHS because of its continued use and maintenance of these ancient electric locomotives. I read somewhere that while the place is going to get bought out by another company who plans to introduce diesel switchers. They actually said specifically that they wanted to keep the electrics running, because not only did it bring good publicity, but also it was part of the agreement with the people who were selling the railway, and the fact that even the local population wants to keep using those electrics indefinitely, even if diesel switches are introduced as well. The Iowa traction railway also has the unusual distinction in that rather than being under threat of closure it is actually one of the few short lines in the United States in a serious position to being able to expand its operations by reclaiming some old rail lines, and the fact that, it is practically the only option for transporting local freight traffic due to the type of items it ships. Funnily enough these steeple cab electrics that they use are actually the exact same color as these prewar 1920s orange electrics from Lionel that you have. On a sidenote, they even have a century old electric trolley that they use on excursions every once in a while.

Thanks for your comments. Lionel was always in-tune with what the real RR's were operating, mostly in the northeast. The NYC used boxcab motors as did the New Haven, PRR etc.@@lucasquintanilla1673
