Terrific, Jim! A fitting tribute to your Dad. And a layout that shows the best of Lionel, prewar and postwar. Doesn’t get better than this!

I truly enjoyed your Christmas town layout and the added stories of how the community was doing its daily grind for the citizens and visitors alike. The pictures at the end really personalized it and shows the joy of running trains with the family. I remember my great uncle Vernon and his layout that was a winter theme. He had a lot of pre and post war engines for his layout that when he helped my mom surprise me and set up my first train set layout that he was the first to help me run my inaugural journey around my track. I’ll never forget that, but I hope to one day pass on my love for trains to the next generation in my family. Thank you for bringing back those memories for me and I hope that you are continuing to enjoy and make new memories with your loved ones.

I enjoyed reading your comment. As I said at the beginning of the video my father bought the trains back in the 60s and 70s. He passed away almost 40 years ago at a young age and never got a chance to set up his retirement layout. I enjoy running the trains and thinking of the past. I am glad you have good memories about trains from your childhood.

@@jim6709 great video! I think that you have some awesome sets and not only do. I love it when people come up with stories like that how you did it in this video but I also really liked the mixing and matching of postwar and pre-war stuff. Do you have any modern or MPC era items? I know that some MPC items like the Amtrak Lakeshore Limited is supposed to be at least on the level of postwar era diesels in terms of quality when you can get it in good condition. Maybe I’m just a Amtrak fan, but it would be kind of cool to see an Amtrak train on a post war, layout doubleheading with a steamer. Congratulations on the great video!

Great layout. With the music, really magical. What are you using for your snow cover? It looks amazing. I really love the ice-skaters and the ski lodge. Your Main Street also looks great with the lone tower at the end.

Love the layout but I m wondering how all the trains are independently running on one interconnected track
@jim67094 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment. Not sure I am answering your question but each of the trains are parked on an isolated section of track that has separate power. I turn on the power for the main track and the train I want to run. I originally built the layout as a way to run my fathers trains and I wanted to get them all on the layout. If I had to do it over again I would have had some independent tracks to run multiple trains at a time.

Very nice layout. How did you get the 2025 to pull 3 Madison cars? I have two 675's and they can each only pull 2.
@jim67092 жыл бұрын
I would just say change out the brushes and lubricate where needed. Should pull 3 Madison cars easily.
