Gorgeous engine and great review. Like how you used your honeymoon to justify buying a train, I think you might have a problem 😂 small steam like that is just a great addition to the collection and that you connect with the story is even better.

Awesome engine and great review. I’ve been to Snoqualmie, absolutely gorgeous.

You gotta go to their rally school! Dirtfish is epic, built around old Weyerhaeuser lumber yards, you actually drive through some of the structures still on site. 🚙💨

What a cool story behind it! Great Video. I love 10-wheelers since they are small but grand

It looks nice on your layout. (Tight curves and mountains). I enjoyed the video. Ken

Thanks, Ken! It may not be the biggest layout but I’m really happy with how these trains go with what I’ve managed to build.

Very nice, Mike! Those Ten Wheeler's are pretty cool and it looks great, running on your layout. That caboose is interesting. It may have been built for local freight or mixed passenger trains, to drop packages off at various stations along the route. That would make it easier for the conductor and station agent, to quickly unload goods for delivery or pick-up. The crew dialog is much improved and not as goofy as most Lionel crew talk is. As usual, I'm looking forward to the next 3R/4D live stream. An excellent video, as always.

Always nice to have something from my home rails (Washington State) and have a little bit of trivia about your visits to the area (Cannon Beach, Oregon, Snoqualmie, Washington).

I love this little engine and works perfectly on the smaller layouts. I got the B&O version and couldn't be happier. Great addition and I enjoy the history lessons as well.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Diving into the background on these is always fun for me so I’m glad people also enjoy it as part of these reviews.

I have the Milwaukee Road version from MrMuffin and like it a lot! And it too doesn’t have reverse lights.

A lot of older era engines didn’t have them, so I’m not surprised.

I have this model but my model is New Jersey Central I love the blue color of the engine and the smoke with the whistle smoke fills my bsmt with smoke. I love this engine and it is at a decent price, good luck with your engine .

Fantastic Northern Pacific steamer Mike. Northern Pacific is one of those railroads that doesn’t seem that popular in o gauge wouldn’t you agree?
@Dadified8615 күн бұрын
Yeah, could certainly use a little more love. I may try to figure out a way to modify mine so the front end signal lamps are more accurate. Looks fine from dead on, but the position of them on the sides makes them look a little strange.

I’ve got the western pacific version, it’s an amazing engine!
@Dadified8615 күн бұрын
Very nice! I considered that one, but from what I was able to gather, WP #110 was a Pacific type so I opted for this one. Still looks sharp in those earlier WP markings!

This model greatly represents the Northern Pacific's S-4 class of steam locomotives. I love that they got the headlight placement right. There are some bigger things, such as the wrong valve gear and the piston boxes not being angled towards the inside of the frame, but the tender is very close to correct, and overall, it is a nice locomotive that I enjoy running!
@Dadified8614 күн бұрын
Yeah it’s a bummer about some of the smaller details but overall I’m happy with it, too! You have the same one?
@JacobHofeldt-fq6ii14 күн бұрын
@@Dadified86 yes I do have that one, I am an NP fan, it's my favorite railroad. There is a 4-6-0 from them on display close to my hometown. It's #1356. I am considering renumbering my locomotive to be this number instead of 1372.
@AnimalsVehiclesAndMore8 күн бұрын
Northern Pacific 1372 has four surviving sister locomotives, with those being 1354, 1356, 1364, and 1382. Last I checked, 1364 is currently being restored to operation, which is really awesome. As for Northern Pacific 328, she had an excursion career that lasted from 1981 to 2001, and my great-great grandfather drove her when he worked for the NP as an engineer.

Another interesting story for the 4-6-0 “Ten Wheelers” is number 1102 of the Southern Railroad. The wreck of the Old 97 at Danville, VA in September of 1903.

Northern Pacific had alot of engines pulling excursions. Sadly are scrapped, including the 2626/Timken 1111 four aces locomotive.

It’s a shame how few survived! Steam is making a comeback with more restorations and excursions planned!

This is just their 4-6-6 with the tender portion removed (which is why the proportions are so strange for a 4-6-0). Lionel is trash, and people who model 3-rail don't give a shit about producing a satisfying final result.
