In his book "The man in the white suit" Ben Collins (The Stig) said that when he saw the car break a wheel off he was petrified that Richie would threaten to sue the show. But when Richie got out of the car and saw what happened he started to laugh and said "The damn wheel came off!"

I love this! Top gear is my favorite show and I just recently started loving Lionel. I've seen every episode of top gear and must have seen this episode when I didn't know who he was years ago. That was not the reason, here in the States we shift with our right hand not our left. I've driven manual transmissions for 17 years now, I went to the UK last year and it was very strange shifting with my left arm and took a whole week to get used to.

how can you possibly take one of the best programmes on the bbc and ruin it, i used to watch this every week without fail, and i`m not really a car fan, and it was worth watching just to see what clarkson, hammond and may would get up to next, and there big christmas adventures were not to be missed, i`m not sure that i can bring myself to ever watch it now with whoever presents it these days, and apart from repeats thankfully i can get my fix of top gear, and thankfully all there other adventures and james may i`m especially looking at you, on youtube, and because of this i generally pray to the gods of youtube everyday, and i`ve even seen the odd episode of the grand tour, and hopefully many years from now when these excellent human beings are long gone can we put up a shrine to them.
