I used to joke with my buddies that Rogan only made it through the D's in the dictionary, because of how often he used 'dominating,' 'devastating,' and 'dangerous,' while commentating. We even made up a drinking game (taking a shot every time he used some iteration of those words), and unsurprisingly, we all got hammered beyond belief. It was always good natured trash talk, though, because Rogan's passion for the sport was so easy to see, and we appreciated that as a group of MMA fanatics. I still miss the days when Joe teamed up with Mike Goldberg on commentary, cuz that was the era we all became fans, but it's amazing what Rogan has accomplished since then. Love him or hate him, you have to respect the fact that he's one of the most successful figures in the history of the sport. Good stuff, Mr. Rivera!

My stepfather showed me UFC when chuck Liddell was the main guy. As a kid, I remember being really impressed by this one guy describing everything that was happening with his passion and enthusiasm, Joe Rogan. I remember looking up Joe Rogan on the internet and he pretty much became a huge influence on me growing up, his views on cannabis, psychedelics turned me on to Terrence McKenna. His views on life switched me up. Rogan is a huge reason why I now live on an island in Thailand, fit and healthy with my own cannabis business instead of being a miserable office guy. He was my big brother as weird as it may sound. That radio show where he's describing humanity as bacteria is like a prayer to me. Completely opened up my eyes.

He has derailed many people over the years by his messed up ideas of humanity, he is a textbook definition of a classical libertarian. Although on a personal level libertarians tend to turn to conservatism later in their lives, a great many of them fall prey to radicalism of whatever kind that might be, and they all end up with one thing in common, aversion from God. Beautiful video. The end of the video made me cry. Growing up, I never knew what I wanted to do for a living. All I loved was video games and sports. Throughout my life, I've never made a choice that brought my passions closer to a possible career. I was born with spina bifida and high functioning autism and albeit with limitations I can run and walk. I was obese and always made excuses that I couldnt be fit because of my condition. It was through my love of mma found in my late teens and listening to Joe that I got a little fire started in me. His matter of fact way of speaking resonated with me and there's a clip of him somewhere where he says if you can move you can work out. Im 30 now and I weight train everyday as well as train boxing. I begin Jiu jitsu next month. Joe has been one of many motivating factors that changed my life for the better.

Very well done. 🤘 The 1st MMA event I saw was the re-run of Pride FC: Final Conflict 2003 on free TV in my hometown New Delhi, India on January 01, 2004 at 4 AM. I was 14 years old at the time, and I think my life took a different direction ever since. Soon after, I started to watch the UFC and have ever since, despite what they did to Strikeforce, Pride FC, and how they monopolized the MMA market. I'm not a fan of what the UFC has done to the market, but there is no way I can deny the profound impact Joe has had on the combat sports world, specially guiding and walking the fans through in real time, on what was happening on the ground. Plus, he by all accounts he comes across as an every man. Inspiring, flawed, reasonable, rational, silly human being. Simply amazing. Him and Goldberg was my favourite broadcasting duo, right after Mauro and Rutten. Thanks for the video and keep it up. ♥️

I watched maybe the first UFC, I had no idea what I was watching. Then I started watching again in the early 2000’s. I watched a little baseball in the 90’s when the Braves were winning, I really don’t watch sports, but the UFC is something I could actually sit and enjoy, unless I was jumping up with excitement. I remember hearing the crowd boo when the fight went to the ground. Without Joe explaining a lot of people may have tuned out. I do miss the days of the sport literally evolving right in front of your eyes. For example arm bars, seeing someone roll out and escape, when just last week it was a done deal.

I think the thing I love about Joe is how he basically spent a chunk of years doing stuff he didn’t really enjoy like acting or hosting fear factor to basically cover any money needs and once he was solid to fine he just locked in on doing the things he did enjoy and had no expectation to make anything of note from them. But after doing them long enough he improved and grew an audience and now makes a ton from all that stuff and will never have to do something he doesn’t want to be doing ever again. Which is pretty damn cool to obtain the freedom to only do things you enjoy doing because you have zero need to be swayed into putting up with something you dislike because you need the money like the majority of us end up having to do. And he has always seemed to be aware of how fortunate his life has become and seems to be grateful for it and hasn’t become entitled or began taking it for granted

I love how Dana explains what he hated about boxing commentators where they would talk trash about fighters and he wanted to have someone in UFC who not only understood fighting in first person but also had the utmost respect for the athletes and the sport and that was Joe. I started watching UFC in 2014 I was looking for a console game to play a friend suggested UFC undisputed or EA sports MMA. I decided to watch fights during that time on a tv. Between playing the console games and watching fights on tv I learned from Joe Rogan. I was amazed by how he was able to tell me what was going on BFORE it actually happened.
