I like the bucket but I would add a handle to the side so my hand is away from the top edge when lionfish are shoved in. I'm going to try to build one using a 5 gal water jug which already has the handle.

Very thorough! 👏👏 Towards the end of the video all the other fish seemed to understand what was happening and they all gathered to enjoy the show. 😅 🐋🐟

I like how the lionfish swims around thinking its king shit then gets speared and shoved in a bucket.

Genius idea with the 5 gallon bucket I will be taking that idea

A wine making or beer brewers bucket has an even greater capacity. I think 7 gallons instead of five.

Every time I watch one of these videos I keep wondering: When the lionfish get shoved into a bucket, bag, etc -- do you think they poke each other with their spines ?? I suppose just because they produce the venom (not poison) doesn't mean they are immune to that venom.
@wmoy85073 жыл бұрын
Great job. Thanks for getting rid of this invasive fish.

That's handy how the buckets come wafting down.

Sea hero, the other fish felt safe and we're observers of what was going on ,the very last clip shows their interest, no doubt they are safer from those spines great job your doing , that's coming from me being a live and let live point of view, research , tells of a drastic situation therefore it must be done

Wow 168 lionfish.. let's say we sell the average of small-big fish at $4 piece x 168 = $672 for a day.. that's not bad isn't it? Are there still this many lionfish over there?

Cheers! But it may get more efficient if you use a spear without barbs or rubber bands and transfix them quickly in line, only descarting them off the spear after catching six or more using a long knife to get sure they are died and don't loose time in store all of it , becsuse they are trash.
@Renville806 жыл бұрын
A. Wilson I have read on other lionfish clips they are apparently very good eating to where some restaurants will buy what divers catch.
@JP-st2mk6 жыл бұрын
Seen one video where the smaller lionfish after they were speared, were shaken up to tear them apart so the reef fish could munch on them. Small ones probably not big enough to filet. Also it teaches the other fish that lionfish taste good :)
