Ayo, it's the horizon!!!!! Huge fan. Jokes aside though, guy has a lot of talent, but I can't help but wish all students had the kind of funding and mentorship required to pursue projects like his. If you think about it, it is a little bit pay to win. Still, bro is very talented, and def deserves to be in MIT.

@@InnitBruvz You can simulate everything virtually in code and pay 0 dollars apart from your computer and electricity costs. It is also faster - welding, soldering, positioning heavy parts in reality takes time. Yes you would not have some skills which can only be trained in real life, but who said you need to know absolutely everything, you can do lots of things virtually, from PCB design to CNC programming, just imagine you've done these parts in real life, then put them inside your simulator (which you also wrote), and see if it fits/works.

I absolutely agree. Although I skipped 2 grades in primary school and graduated from college at 18, I still cannot fathom how intelligent people like this are. I genuinely feel stupid when I talk to some of my friends from MIT. They are miles ahead of me, and I am beyond proud of them :) So much to learn indeed!

Nuclear fusion isn't that hard to achieve. The goal is to achieve sustained nuclear fusion that produces orders of magnitude more energy than you put in, which is not what's going on here. Still a cool experiment, nonetheless.

@@Rz-zu5vf I'm simply explaining that fusing nuclei is a commonly replicable achievement, while sustained fusion is the thing nuclear physicists are working on globally. It's no small achievement that he got it working, but the scientific method is meant to be reproducible. The comments I'm seeing sound as if he's achieved the breakthrough at age 15, which is absolutely not the case. My field is clearly different than this genius applicant, but replicating an experiment is simply replicating an experiment, that is all. And for the record, I'm a junior at the college he's applying to.

A lot of people saying you don't need to go to university - I think you're actually positioned to get a lot out of it! When you have all these practical skills, theory learning often goes much faster, and then you can delve deeper into specific details and edge cases. Good luck!

Just a spectacular portfolio. In particular, very impressed by the ev project. This takes real dedication. I think you are in a very advantageous position given you found your passion early, and seem to have very supporting people around you. Make the most of it regardless of outcome, though I have almost no doubt you will be successful. That little sketch at the end was so cool. I'm academically a year ahead of you and did a similar application process but I identify with so many of your interests it's like deja vu.

I like your dedication man, this shows how much you are committed to your work, if you didn't get in then my theoretical plan to get in would also fail, because I had planned to showcase my potential and interest in science(especially physics), tech and innovation with many projects & ideas in my mind that will also overcome the lack of medals, awards, and extracurricular activities. However due to some reasons and my lack of motivation, I couldn't complete many potential projects to showcase and since I knew I didn't have much to prove my worth, I backed down this time 23-24. Focusing on IIT rn but I will apply next year as a transfer applicant. Also, I will do practical my ideas and convert them into reality in this period, not because to get into MIT, but because I want to do it and I will do it anyways. I hope you get in and we meet soon.

The projects are all quite doable for an independent highschooler except for the space and resources for the electric vehicle (assuming he got a nice deal on the turbomolecular vacuum pump).

I am sure that you'll end up going anywhere you like to, rightly so but I hope you don't end up in a big tech or a high-paying start-up to work on bs projects and actually do cool stuff. There's probably not much need for you to take classes since you are an excellent self-learner but meet some cool people like you in college and start something cool! Hats off to you sir!
