Watching the series just makes me want to go back to the late 80s.😪

Every person wants to go back in time .. especially us older folks. We all feel we let time pass us by.

This was one of my favorite things to watch when I was in my teens 😅... IDK what made me think of it but I love that I remembered it... There was another show similar to this one but I don't remember the name of it... It's about two guys and they would hunt down evil objects and take them... Hmmm dang it!
@danceswithcomicbooks77338 ай бұрын
Everyone gets that way after a while. Can't go back but you can still enjoy the shows.
I love this series so much, my mama and I would watch every episode together whenever it was on TV during the times when it was brand new and new episodes were premiering. Then years after the cancellation, we would still sit back and watch the reruns of the series whenever they were on whichever network, we still watch the episodes and never get tired of all the episodes of this series. This was Cabin in the Woods before Cabin in the Woods, the premise of the series was just perfect.

I loved this show. God bless my grampa, gone for many years, he would let me watch anything when I stayed at his and grandma's house. He loved spooky shows and horror. I was his youngest grandkid and I was gifted so I understood a lot more at my age. My mom treated me like a baby but grampa and dad gave me my live for horror. This is a great show, but was from '87-90, so has been done to death. But for us GenX folks a trip down memory lane.

To me, this was a great take on the supernatural anthology series. A binding overall narrative, where each episode touched on the different sins that powered the cursed antiques. I do think that they should have explored more on why Uncle Louis broke the pact, as it had to have been more than just not wanting to give the girl the doll. Though, I admit that what helped was that in my neck of the woods, they aired this on Friday night.. and at midnight EST.
@6Haunted-Days4 ай бұрын
Obviously the original series was NOT slotted at any midnight time slot. That was reruns.
@Panwere364 ай бұрын
@@6Haunted-Days , when it aired on CBS stations, that is what they did. They aired the first showing earlier, and for the "night owl crowd" they showed it again at midnight. I should have said that. My bad.

To honestly recall, as someone who watched the show in first run syndication, religiously at age 11, I think it was up to the affiliate broadcasting stations. WXGZ Super 32 in Green Bay aired the first eight episodes weekly on Saturdays after their FOX lineup, at 9 pm, because I remember watching the “Hell’oween” episode on Halloween 1987. WLUK 18 in Milwaukee, aired F13 on Saturday, but showed it at 7 pm. Madison TV channel 24, actually showed it on Fridays at 11 pm, or maybe midnight, until Super 32 saw a viewership advantage in airing new episodes on Friday nights at 9 pm (I think after Star Trek TNG), and that’s when I always tuned in… And if I missed it, I had several other ways to watch it (otherwise I had to wait for the reruns). I do recall Madison 24 ended up moving F13 to late Sundays, so they could get the edge on the new episodes… I think with syndication, it’s not very sporting for affiliate stations to air the same show at the same time, so memories of when some of us watched it first run may vary. All I know is it was a ratings grabber no matter what the time for those little stations that could. It was a creative series, and I loved the three leads. It deserved closure given its abrupt cancellation by religious groups.

I always had a fan fiction idea in mind that 10-years later, Mary came back to Curious Goods to redeem herself and to aid Jack, Micki, and Johnny in retrieving the last batch of cursed objects. Eventually as part of ending the curse, Mary would confront Vita, the porcelain doll, causing Vita to shatter, as Jack, Micki, and Johnny take their respective angers out on other objects breaking them all down to bits… I feel towards the end the trio with their work finally over, would sell the store/leave their home to build anew… And I can envision the ending shot, with Jack locking up the store, as he, Micki, and Johnny, head off into the sunset, despite a huge dumpster outside Curious Goods. And as the camera zooms in on the dumpster, and it dissolves into an overhead pan of the dumpster’s contents… you see amongst the rubble of antiques: pieces of trephinator, splinters of the wheelchair… other damaged odds and ends… only to stop on a fragment of doll’s head with the 👁️ still in tact. And as the camera zooms in on that eerie eye, it holds a few seconds… only for the eye to make a sudden life-like movement to the right, giving the viewer a nanosecond’s thought as to whether it’s the wind or the curse still lives, then immediately cut to: Executive Producer Frank Mancuso Jr. credit with the dramatic bumper version of the F13 theme, as we FADE OUT for the final time. 😮
