When you level up next I recommend checking the equipment of the troops you can choose in the Index. They might give you a better horse and saddle than what you currently have for when you choose the Hybrid Loadout, you'll just want your Boots and Shoulders most likely.

I guess you used to be an adventurer until you took a bolt to the neck. Harpy Mask? Do you want to anger your queen? Having a horse so early in the campaign is such a boon, unless it betrays you or you just fail.
