The fact that the Buffalo knew they were there and turned it's back on them and continued eating should have been enough to tell the lions this was not an animal to be messed with. I could see if there were 15 or 20 lions stalking it, but just a few of them makes this an exercise in futility.

My grandfather once told during my childhood days.. When he was small, his father went on to graze their Buffalo in forest area ..during dawn, a lion attacked one of their Buffalo.. And the Buffalo single handedly fight a lion for 2 hours and punctured his stomach by his horns.. That day our Buffalo survived with injuries but lion was dead... This tragic incident happened in West Bengal during 1920s ..

Not, strong as zebra tho. They do have strong leg but it is like for pushing only, few damage for lions. Humans would have fractured bone by buffalo. Zebra and Donkey kick are very powerful to even kill small lioness. Giraffe has the most powerful kick. Buffalo and wildebeest kick have less force/pressure. Yes, they have bigger legs.

Buffalo should follow one rule if they are alone run till your last breath because lions attack from behind and then buffalo dies but if they continue running lions cannot defeat buffalo

Flavio Leon Buffalos horn can toss lion 10 feet into the air. Lions rarely attack buffalo one on one. Lions are intelligent hunters and attack from behind. Buffalos typically outweigh lions 5 to 1 so a single lion can't do much.
