ROFL. Those "lionesses" quite literally have balls. You can see them a few times in the clips. Not to mention lionesses are not this aggressive towards males. .... I don't think this male is an intruder. The females would've been relentless. I think this is dad coming back from patrol. He's probably been this young one for about a year and now it's time to go. You can clearly see in the beginning how all the females are standing together looking like, "shit, I told you he would be pissed that he still here. And then dad snaps and starts breaking stuff.

Thing is, April, that normally an entire pride wouldn't fight for a young male like this if it was the actual father. If they were all willing to ban together it makes it pretty obvious that the male in question was a stranger male who happened upon the pride. And no, before a conclusion is jumped to, the father is very unlikely to be there at the time as once cubs reach about eight months is when males leave to patrol territory for a couple to a few weeks at a time, so chances are the father is pretty far away.

Yea it was definitely kicking the males out. If u see the beginning the father was lined up against 3 sub adult males and was arguing with them. He hit the first and and the first submitted but things got hectic because the second sub male hit his father and he was having none of it and the father attack the son for real. That's when the entire pride got riled up, as to say "DAD!! DONT KILL HIM. CALM DOWN" So another sub male bit the fathers backside luring him away and that's when the female came out of nowhere and threw here whole body at the father. Which probably incurred his wrath. which is y u see his anger switches from the males to the female at the end. And the female is running for her life cuz she broke chain of command by hitting him and he was about to lay her out.

IN the beginning, there's more sub-adult males, bravely facing the bigger male. Sub-adult males may NOT have manes, but lionesses DON'T have testicles. 0:31 is a sub-adult male being slapped. Keep your eye on him too. He's going to be the King of his pride one day. After he's slapped, he stands his ground. Growling, that he's ready for a fight. But being submissive, not really wanting to fight. Then when the lion slaps the lioness at 0:56, it's him that attacks the males back, & the male chases him off. Wow, just wow. I think what happened here is the other way around: lionesses and the pride members protecting one of their sub-adult sons from the male lion (who seemed to be somewhat still related to the pride). There are two cases in mind, not really sure which one: -first, that’s the dad of sub-adult male lion (probably 2-3 years) trying to kick him out of the pride so that he can make his own pride and take his own territory; sub-adult male lions are always kicked out of the pride because they’re growing to their prime while the fathers are growing old and once the females are in heat they will try to mate with their moms and sisters, the father won’t be able to do anything with big lions in their prime; -second, it could be an intruder lion trying to kill the sub-adult male while the dad is on patrol, taking the pride for himself.

@@achante2002 i rewatched it and it's probably the n°1, cause most of the time if there was an intruder, all of them would be on his face trying to kick him out, or worse, they could kill him. It's just a dad trying to kick his sons to make their own coalitions and prides, since these are social cats, they instinctively know that they shouldn’t mate with the same pool genes, cause that could potentially breed deformed lions. If you wanna know more about lions, i recommend you to watch and support Kevin Richardson aka TheLionWhispererTV :)

That young male lion will grow up to have his own strong pride one day. I love the strong bond with lions, so incredible. I did think once that the lionesses did all the work while the male king did nothing but he protects his pride with strength, fierceness and passion.

Whoever interpreted this altercation did a terrible job. There is a single female in this video and she was clearly ignored by the dominant lion who for some reason wanted to attack one of the juvenile males. The juvenile was very submissive and towards the end of the video tries to run away.All the others, including the female, were trying to defend him. Btw the one that flied in the face of the big lion at 1:00 was not the female but a juvenile, pretty awesome.

The male is trying to oust the young male and the lioness' are trying to negotiate for him to leave the young male alone. The lioness' are actually submitting to him while negotiating.

XtraHits yea thats what was going on the outside male was trying to take over the pride
@McReins9 жыл бұрын
XtraHits Males that take over will usually oust the adolescent males, not kill them. This creates the nomadic males that will eventually take over a pride on their own. It's healthy and prevents inbreeding. I disagree that this is DEFINITELY a takeover though. Sometimes females will check the pride males if they become too aggressive.

This is not submitting at all. Male lion is in 2 minds thinking shit I better be careful here.

Appears to be a total of 5 juvenile males and one mother. What a litter if she had 5 strong sons! Quite beautiful! They are all slighter larger with a bit of scruff for a premature mane. The guy who wants to "date" their mother is getting a beating from the teenage sons.

These young male lions are just starting to grow their manes and lionesses do not have balls. These boys should have a huge territory today.
@agentina83045 жыл бұрын
Just because females don't have balls for any species, doesn't mean they can't claim a territory or etc.

This could be an adult male trying to force his young sons to leave the pride. The females may just be having maternal instincts. Could be a rogue male as well and see's the young males as a threat.
