My family has had season tickets for 52 years now. I am 23 years old and have gone to every Lions home game I can make it to for the last 12 years. I started going with my dad and I'll always be grateful he was a diehard football fan. I really wish he was here tonight to see this.

Buffalo fan here. I had two friends back in the 90's, they were brothers from Pontiac MI and they loved their Lions. We used to rib each other back and forth over who had it the worse. Lol They both served their country in the Marines and both passed away before the age of 50. I'm an Eagles fan and have been since the 90's. Since the Lions have little to do with my team, I've always rooted for them to be a good team and have a good year. I like them for some reason. You start to get bored of the same good teams every year, Pats, Packers, Steelers, Ravens, watching the same teams in the Superbowl year after year. You start to root for teams that haven't been good in a long time, Lions, Browns, Bills. I'm glad they finally have a team that could do something. I've been there.

I feel the same way, doesn’t matter who you are a fan of. The Bengals winning their first playoff game in 31 years a couple years ago was special to me as well as the Mariners and Kings breaking their long playoff droughts. Seattle’s way they did it felt like something out of a movie with a walk off home run to send them to the playoffs after 21 years.

Patriots fan here and I remember when your Bills were in the middle of that 18 year playoff drought, I felt happy for them just getting in and even happier when they got that playoff win against the Colts alongside making the AFC Championship game. It’s crazy how we are in a world where the Browns, Lions, Bills, Texans, and Jaguars are all good teams in the same year with Jacksonville barely missing the playoffs but still finished 9-8 on the season.

I’ve lived in southeast Michigan for my entire life. My dad is a huge Lions fan and I’m a pretty big Lions fan myself, of course. My first memories of football and the Lions were the 2007 and 2008 seasons, back when I was 5 or 6, and one of the biggest memories from that was just how much they lost, and how frustrated that made my dad, and I always hoped that someday we’d get to see more consistent success, and my dad (and I) wouldn’t have to be so frustrated by this team we wanted to badly to succeed. Tonight I got to watch the Lions win their first playoff game in my lifetime, and the first playoff game the Lions have won since my dad was in high school, and I got to share that moment with my dad. This was absurdly important to me and him, and I can say with confidence there are many more people all around our great state who got to experience moments just like that tonight. Thanks to all of those who made this win happen, and no matter what we encounter going forward, I will always remember this day.

I was born in Detroit over 22 years ago. Since that day I have loved the Lions. Through every heart break, I stayed loyal and and stood by my team. It hurt. A LOT. But watching this live felt like I was being cleansed of all that pain all in one fell swoop. I don't know how I thought I was going to react, but in the moment all I could do was cry. There was no stopping it. The thrill of seeing my team finally win one, the memory of all the close calls that didn't go our way, the lifting of the anxiety that this game was going to be just another chapter in the long list of ways the Lions have found to let it slip, the pure bliss of seeing so many of my fellow Detroiters being lost in jubilation after so many years of struggle both in football and in the real world; it all hit me at once. I know football is just entertainment at the end of the day, but this really made me feel overwhelmed with joy for one fleeting moment, and those are the moments that make life worth it.

I've always rooted for the underdog. I became a Lions fan because they were widely considered "the worst team" when I was a kid. I was there when they went 0-16 which only solidified the negative stigma this team had. Everyone made jokes about them, including myself, but I stuck with them year after year. To see their growth over time and it finally paying off with their first playoff win in decades (since before I was born) is an incredible feeling. Now I'm hoping to see them go all the way to the Super Bowl!

Back in 1997 I was at the Bucs first home playoff game in 18 years. The feeling in the stadium when they got into victory formation to finish off the win (ironically they beat the Lions) was rapturous. It was like the whole town got their self-respect back. I know just how those Lions fans felt.
