I think you gotta start Hooker in the preseason. He hasn’t seen a real snap yet and he’s probably very rusty. Gotta have him somewhat ready if (knock on wood) Goff gets hurt.

Absolutely. If he can start in the NFL, it’d be better for the Lions to get some value for him rather than let him walk in 2027. Preseason is the best time to showcase him. Or you could keep him as a bridge between Goff and the next QB. I’d definitely rather have him as a backup than Nate Sudfeld. Goff’s new contract doesn’t leave much room for Hendon in Detroit other than as a backup for the next 3-4 years though. And he’ll be over 30 at that point.

@@Honestly__now well honestly it depends on if Goff got a season ending injury or if it was just for a game or two. If Goff is done for the season, then the season is over. But if he’s only out for a game or two, hopefully hooker could step up

Hendon needs to play the ENTIRE pre season and Goff needs to help Him Taylor his game. No reason to play Goff with his new contract

Hendon needs all the reps plus he's not getting any younger lol. I have more faith in Hooker taking over a game than I do Sudfeld honestly. Has big play potential with his feet or cannon

Way way too early to judge Hendon Hooker. Not saying he's a Hall of Famer just yet, but he'll be better and at least serviceable by preseason. Dude will be better than Sudfeld.

He has to get the game reps for his development. You have to take the risk to get him up to speed.

Just because someone is taking reps w the 1s or the 2s now, doesnt mean that much in OTAs. They may just want to get a better evaluation on how those players have progressed. DPJ with the 1s is still better than Green. But I love that Green is doing well. He deserves a shot

Hooker, Caleb Williams, Michael Penix and JJ McCarthy will all be learning a version of the same playbook this summer along with Baker Mayfield, Jordan Love and Joe Borrow with coordinators from Rams Sean McVay's coaching tree. The West coast offense is all about timing. My money is on Michael Penix in Atlanta.

Hooker will probably get the majority of pre-season snaps. He has lots of overreaction potential!! Overreactions from fans and possibly a couple QB needy teams, by the trade deadline! Anything's possible, except taking Goff's job!! 3 WRs are guaranteed to make the roster. St.Brown, Jamo and Kalif are safe, but everything is opened after that!! Competition breeds success!!

DPJ is pretty much a roster lock as well. Teams don’t really resign their FA’s just to cut them.
